Galaxy A52

Samsung may be busy with the upcoming release of its Foldable smartphones. However, it still is finding some time to keep current smartphones, even mid-range devices, running stable and updated software. Today, the company is rolling out firmware updates for the Samsung Galaxy A52 And Galaxy A72. These devices came in 4G and 5G variants earlier this year. Now, the company is rolling out a new firmware update to address some issues and enhance the overall experience.

The changelog includes the option to remaster photos automatically. The new feature looks for optimal resolution, brightness, color, and sharpness. It also suggests already optimized images. The stability of the camera app has been improved as well as the overall picture quality. The company has also worked on the Face recognition feature and brings improvements for the call quality. The new Samsung Galaxy A52 firmware version is A525MUBU2AUF3, while the Galaxy A72 update is A725FXXU2AUF3.

Gizchina News of the week

Samsung Galaxy A52 gets improvements and July security patch, the A72 gets only improvements

The firmware version A525MUBU2AUF3 comes with July 2021 security patch. It is rolling out in Panama and Bolivia. It will soon reach other major regions including India. Samsung probably is testing the update with a limited amount of devices. If everything goes smoothly, then the company will open it to a wider amount of users.

This firmware is a big file with 1,290MB. For that reason, make sure to download it via Wi-Fi connection. Unfortunately, while the Galaxy A72 is getting nearly the same features it wasn’t been contemplated with the July security patch. Instead, users will have to run the June security patch for another month. Just like the Galaxy A52, the update is reaching the A72 in just a few select regions. The availability should be expanded in the next few days. Worth noting that these updates are coming for the 4G LTE variants. We assume that the 5G units will get the same treatment in a near future.

The Galaxy A52 and A72 have opened the road for Samsung mid-range phones this year. Since the Galaxy A51 and A71 were the company’s best-selling devices in 2020, the Korean firm decided to stick with these for another year. Since their release, we already saw the arrival of many smartphones featuring 4G and 5G connectivity. Still, the Galaxy A52 and A72 should be receiving a lot of updates that will keep them relevant. In fact, we expect these two devices to be eligible for Android 12, Android 13, and maybe Android 14.
