Redmi K50 series

A few years ago (back in March), Redmi officially unveiled the Redmi K40 series. As the brand’s highest-end flagship product, the smartphone complements the shortcomings of the previous models. The Redmi K40 also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. This chip is one of the most popular Snapdragon chips. Its performance is almost on par with the flagship Snapdragon 888. The Redmi K40 series has boosted the popularity of the Redmi K series. In view of the extremely excellent performance of the Redmi K40 series, many consumers are beginning to look forward to the next-generation products. The company has been preparing for the launch of the Redmi K50 series.

Gizchina News of the week

Over the past few weeks, there have been a couple of speculations regarding the upcoming Redmi K50 series. Today, there is another speculation regarding the Redmi K50. According to a Weibo blogger, the Redmi K50 series will come with 100W fast charging. This will be the first time that a Redmi smartphone will use such a charging capacity. Some reports claim that the charging capacity could be up to 120W. However, the standard version may not support 100W fast charging. Only the Pro+ version will likely use this charging capacity. There is official confirmation that the regular standard version comes with a 67W fast charging technology.

Furthermore, Redmi will also upgrade the camera department of this smartphone. The Redmi K50 series will use 48MP and 108MP main cameras. While the high model will use a 108MP main camera, the other models will have a 48MP main camera.

With respect to the processor, there is no reliable information for now. If the Redmi K50 series will use the Snapdragon 895 SoC, then it will probably not launch this year. Qualcomm will release its next-generation flagship SoC in December at the earliest. Xiaomi is expected to debut this chip just like last year with a device from the Mi digital series. Thus, if the Redmi K50 series must arrive this year, it will most likely not use the Snapdragon 895 SoC. If it must use this processor, the Redmi will have to unveil this series in the first quarter of next year.

It is important to note that the Redmi K40 series arrived in March this year. This means that the Redmi K50 series still have more than half a year to plan. The current leak and speculation may be different from the final version. We will have to wait and see what this series eventually brings.
