Realme V16? Mysterious Realme smartphone emerges on TENAA

Honestly, I can’t remember if there was any month in 2021 that wasn’t marked by the arrival of new Realme smartphones. The fastest-growing brand is the fastest for one reason – it keeps filling the smartphone market with good options. Their fans can’t rest. Last month Realme introduced new Realme GT Master series in global markets, and just recently unveiled a new Realme GT Neo2. Also in this wee, the company introduced new Realme Narzo 50 smartphones for the low-end segment. Apparently, the company is already preparing a new 5G smartphone for China and it may be the Realme V16.

Alleged Realme V16 specifications

The new mysterious Realme smartphone was listed in the Chinese authority with RMX3461 and RMX3463 model numbers. These are possibly regional variants, but this is yet to be confirmed. Unfortunately, the chipset isn’t disclosed and we only know it reaches a 2.4 GHz clock speed. This could be virtually any Snapdragon 7 series or Dimensity 800 series chipset. Despite this unknown fact, we know that it will come with multiple variants. The SoC will come with 6 GB, 8 GB, or 12 GB of RAM. The storage will come at 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB. The two last storage and RAM combinations are very impressive for a device that seems to be in the mid-range segment. It’s not common to see 12 GB / 512 GB smartphones in the mid-range department, but the remaining specs scream affordability.

Gizchina News of the week

Despite these impressive RAM / Storage combos, the device has a 6.59-inch Full HD+ pane land the fingerprint scanner is placed on the side. This probably means that we’re looking at a common LCD. Also, the camera setup isn’t very impressive. There is a triple-camera array with a 48 MP primary camera, and two 2 MP snappers for depth and macro. The device draws powers from a 4,880 mAh battery and we assume it’s a 5,000 typical battery with 50 W fast-charging. This is in line with the Realme V15 released earlier this year.

Why we believe this is the Realme V16

The Realme V-series focuses in China and brings a very good set of specifications, 5G connectivity for a low price. The device may impress with these RAM and Storage combinations but cut some corners in the display and camera department. So, we have strong reasons to believe that this is a Realme V16 or something else in the V-series.

The RMX3461 and RMX3463 have been certified by 3C already. So the launch may be just around the corner.
