Poco M4 Pro 5G Visits Certification Sites, to Feature MediaTek SoC, 33W Fast Charging

Poco M4 Pro 5G

It seems that the Poco M3 is soon going to get its successor, but, instead of sporting the moniker of the Poco M4, it will come as the Poco M4 Pro 5G.

This information comes to us as the device has passed through TENAA, IMEI and 3C certification sites, among other such sites, as was spotted by Abhishek Yadav and Kacper Skrzypek.

The company has applied for the trademark and certification of this supposed Poco M4 Pro 5G device under the model number 21091116AG.

What Do the Poco M4 Pro 5G Listings Reveal?

POCO M3 India

From the information at hand, we can tell that the Poco M4 Pro 5G will ship with a 33W fast charger. As per Kacper Skrzypek, the device will make use of a MediaTek SoC, most likely one from a Dimensity SoC, which might be disappointing if you were expecting for Poco to use a Snapdragon SoC.

Certain sources suggest that this device will be global, while others say that the device will come only to the European market and India, so we do not know which countries will get the device. An India launch does seem certain, to say the least.

Gizchina News of the week

Going by the Pro moniker for the device, it could likely be a mid-ranger and not a budget device, which would also explain support for 5G, since most 5G devices in India are in the mid-range segment.

The device is most likely going to make use of a 5000 mAh battery and up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which will likely be more than enough for most if not all users.

It will likely run MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 12, we do not know of an expected launch date, however. No hints in relation to this are available so we will have to wait and see if the company starts to tease the device or prematurely discounts the Poco M3 in a bid to clear stock.

What Else is the Company Working On?

POCO C31 Launch in India Sept. 30

Recently, Poco unveiled a new phone in India. The new smartphone carries a POCO C31 moniker and has very modest specifications such as an Helio G35 SoC and a 13 MP main camera.

It comes for a particular niche of users that doesn’t need top-notch performance but a device that can go through an entire day of modest usage. We believe that the POCO C31 offers decent performance for non-exigent users.
