Chinese smartphone giant Vivo is set to launch the Vivo V23 series in the country of India on January 5. It seems however that alongside this new V-series of devices, the company is also gearing up to debut a new budget handset as part of its Y-series.
Vivo’s Y21T has been tipped for some time, with the complete specifications having been leaked a week ago, as well as renders and specifications surfacing, courtesy of Indian publication MySmartPrice.
Vivo Y21T Pricing Tipped Ahead of Rumoured January 3 Launch
The device is rumoured to launch in India on January 3. Now, notable tipster Mukul Sharma has revealed the pricing information of the upcoming Vivo Y21T.
According to the tipster, Mukul Sharma, the Vivo Y21T will retail for Rs 19,990, which is also the listed box price of the phone. This pricing is for the variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone seems to be set to be available in just one configuration, with previous renders revealing two hues, namely Black and Blue.
The new budget smartphone contender will come with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,408 x 1,080 pixels. The phone will pack a 90 Hz refresh rate and sport a 90.6 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
Moving around to the back, the handset has a triple-camera setup. As reported earlier, the device will have a 50 MP primary camera. It will be joined by a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. As we can see, only the primary camera is useful in this package. For selfies and video calls, the handset will sport an 8 MP camera.
What Else Do We Know About the Handset?
Under the hood, the Vivo V21T will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. This chipset is relatively new and is one of the few 6 nm chips that Qualcomm offers with just 4G connectivity. It succeeds the Snapdragon the 678 SoC that has disappeared from the market amidst the chipset crisis.
The chipset will be paired with up to 4 GB of RAM. According to reports, Vivo will bring its extended RAM feature to give an extra 1 GB of Internal Storage from the 128 GB Storage. You can also expand the storage amount with a micro SD card.
The Vivo Y21T draws its powers from a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18 W fast-charging. In terms of software, the phone will run Android 11-based Funtouch OS 12 straight out of the box.
That’s a shame that we’re still seeing smartphones coming with Android 11. Moving on, the device will measure 164.26 x 76.08 x 8mm and weigh about 182 grams. It will come with a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
