Gizchina News of the week

Today, a press release appeared on the official Samsung website, in which the company announced that it is setting new standards by offering four generations of OS updates for the safe use of Galaxy devices. And it turned out to be something interesting. The company said that “Today, extended support is extended to the Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Z; and Galaxy A series of smartphones, as well as tablets. In the future, the company intends to expand the initiative to other lines. In the list of devices that are eligible for four major updates; the company also mentioned the Galaxy A line, indicating “a number of selected Galaxy A devices”.

This means that future Samsung Galaxy A devices will also move to 4+1 support; which means four major Android updates and an extra year of security patches. It is unlikely that all future models of the Galaxy A series will receive such an advantage. Most likely, it will affect only the top models of the line.

“We are committed to providing people with a Galaxy with an innovative and sustainable mobile experience. Galaxy users are increasingly choosing to use their device for longer. Sometimes because they just love that specific model, sometimes because they want to contribute to a more sustainable world. With four generations of One UI upgrades, we make that possible, while at the same time you continue to enjoy the latest mobile innovations,” says Gerben van Walt Meijer, Marketing Manager Mobile of Samsung Netherlands.
