Xiaomi Mi Band 5 NFC version fined for inaccurate description

Reports out of China show that Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. was fined 80,000 yuan ($12,630) by the Beijing Haidian District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau. The fine is for an inaccurate description of product functions and violation of the Advertising Law. The specific reason is that the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 NFC version promotional page claims that this device supports the “24-hour sleep monitoring” function. However, in truth, the feature has two parts, night sleep records, and sporadic nap records. However, if your night sleep is less than 60 minutes, the night sleep record mode will not record it.

As for the sporadic nap recording mode, it does not record sporadic sleep less than 20 minutes during the day. This means that the “24-hour sleep monitoring” advertised by Xiaomi does not give data for certain sleep times.

Xiaomi Mi Band 5 – a top-notch smart band

The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is the latest smart band besides the Band 6 from the Chinese manufacturer. This device comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED screen that supports a resolution of 126 x 294.
