POCO M4 Pro 4G teased by the company ahead of launch

POCO M4 Pro

Back in the last month, we would never expect a 4G variant for the POCO M4 Pro. However, if there is something that we’ve learned is that Xiaomi can always surprise us, especially when it involves its very controversial rebranding strategy. POCO nowadays has become nothing more than a brand that merely rebadges existing Redmi smartphones. The POCO X4 series was our last hope, but as per the leaks, they will also be rebranded devices. As for the POCO M4 Pro, no exception, it seems to be merely a rebadged Redmi Note 11S. We just can’t understand why Xiaomi is launching the same handset two times and in the same month. Anyway, there should be a good reason for that. After multiple leaks, the company confirmed the launch of the POCO M4 Pro 4G and is starting a teaser campaign to build the hype for the smartphone.

POCO teases key specs for the POCO M4 Pro

The company is teasing the POCO M4 Pro Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout. It’s also proud of the 1,000 nits achieved by the panel in the peak state. We already know that this display is based on the Redmi Note 11S which brings a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Worth noting that this is the first AMOLED panel to reach an M-series POCO smartphone.

The next teaser revolves around the dual stereo speakers present in this handset. Unlike the previous models that had the earpiece acting as a speaker, this one relies on true stereo speakers. The latest teaser focus on the clean experience offered by POCO. We assume that this has to do with the POCO Launcher since POCO smartphones run MIUI. As a result, the POCO M4 Pro may bring the same Android 11-based MIUI 13 present on the Redmi Note 11S devices.

POCO has also confirmed full support for DCI-P3 wide color gamut and L1 Widefine certification. The latter ensures Full HD content playback on streaming platforms. The latest bit is the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The company confirmed that more key specs will be revealed tomorrow. However, we already know almost everything. Apart from the distinct design, the device will bring the MediaTek Helio G96 SoC. It has passed through the Google Play Console listing earlier this week.

The phone will hit the market on February 28 alongside the POCO X4 Pro. The latter will also be based on a Redmi Note 11 smartphone, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
