YouTube users on iOS will gain a massive advantage over Android users

Google has all the rights to make its Google Apps better on Android devices, but apparently, it does not mean it will do so. The company has been improving the experience of G-apps on iOS devices, and YouTube is one of the apps getting a boost. The company has been working hard to offer YouTube’s picture-in-picture support for iOS. After a long period of testing, the company will roll out the update in the next few days. The big advantage of Apple’s iOS is that all users, including non-premium and premium subscribers, will have access to that feature.

So far, only YouTube Premium subscribers have had access to picture-in-picture mode on iOS as an “experimental feature”. Obviously, we’ve been assuming that this feature would only reach Youtube Premium users on iOS. After all, on Android, only Premium users have access to this feature. However, this isn’t the case. If you want a picture-in-picture feature on YouTube, you’ll get it on iOS without spending a penny. Google has clarified that the feature will eventually reach all users in the United States.

YouTube Picture-in-Picture coming to all iOS users

Back on Sunday, in a Tweeted response to a user experience issue with the experimental feature, YouTube said the picture in the picture will be available in “a matter of days” for devices running iOS 15 and later. The picture-in-picture mode can boost the multi-tasking experience. After all, you can easily keep watching the video on a small screen while you’re using other applications. From the YouTube app, there is a shortcut button that activates the picture-in-picture mode. The video will be reduced to a small window that floats over the Home Screen or other applications.

YouTube has gone through a lengthy period of testing which has been extended multiple times. The goal is to ensure the best possible experience for iOS users ahead of the official launch. Now, it seems that the company has finally reached its goal.
