Chinese smartphone brand, Xiaomi, is doing quite well in the smartphone market. The company recently regained its No. 1 spot in India after briefly losing it to Samsung. A new smartphone from the company recently appeared on GeekBench. The Redmi Note 12 Pro (22101316C) appeared on the Geekbench 5 benchmarking platform yesterday. This smartphone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 as well as 6GB of RAM. The Geekbench 5 running points show thatĀ the Dimensity 1080 has a single-core running score of 767. In addition, it has a multi-core running score of 2008.Ā In comparison, its performance is similar to that of the Dimensity 920.

Dimensity 1080 is basically Dimensity 920

The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 was released on October 11. It is manufactured using TSMCā€™s 6nm process. This chip also has an octa-core CPU. It has 2 ARM Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.6GHz. It also comes with 6 ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of up to 2GHz.Ā The MediaTek Dimensity 920 also comes with 2 ARM Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.5GHz. It also uses a 6 ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 2GHz. Judging from the parameters on paper,Ā the Dimensity 1080 is indeed just a small overclocked version of the Dimensity 920. Of course, the performance difference can not be so much.

Redmi Note 12 Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi Note series starts an iterative strategy of two generations a year. The Redmi Note 11T series in the first half of the year focuses more on performance. However, the Redmi Note 12 series in the second half of the year will focus on “experience”. In the camera department, Redmi Note 12 Pro will come with aĀ Sony IMX766 outsole main camera, with 1/1.56″ outsole and 2Ī¼m fusion large pixels. This chip also supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). In terms of charging, the Redmi Note 12 is expected to be equipped with a 67W charger. However, the Pro and Pro Max models will support 120W and 210W fast charging respectively.
