The smartphone market is split between iOS and Android. On the other hand, there are devices from dozens of various manufacturers that are suited for any budget in addition to Apple’s iPhone models. The Samsung Galaxy S23, which will be available soon and will compete with the iPhone 14 series in terms of performance and user experience, will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series looks promising

In terms of reliable software, powerful hardware, high efficiency, and long battery life, Android smartphone manufacturers have long lagged behind Apple. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, which feature Google’s own Tensor processors, were anticipated to quickly gain market dominance in this space.

However, customers are let down by the performance and efficiency of these Samsung-made CPUs. Of course, this does not imply that Google’s Tensor processors have been a failure. Due to the fact that they are not at all comparable to the A15 and A16 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The Galaxy S23 series, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, should offer a lot more advancements. Furthermore, we observe notable improvements in both performance and efficiency. So much so that some claim it is better than Apple chips.

Following Snapdragon 888, Qualcomm transitioned to the 8 Gen 1. And then the 8 Gen 2 with a strong marketing strategy. This time, Qualcomm appears to deliver good chips. Although the new Vivo smartphone will be the first to use this chip, we already know that Samsung will use a unique, less common variant.

The Galaxy S23 series outperformed other Android devices using Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the first test’s results for single-core performance but lagged behind in multi-core performance. According to the most recent results, it provides the best performance in both categories in the Android world.

Gizchina News of the week

In comparison to its own Exynos 2200 processor used in the prior series, Samsung offers 25% more performance in a single-core and 45 percent more in a multi-core. The shocking value, though, is not this one. In comparison with the S22 using Exynos, the S23 series will be 60 to 85% more efficient.

With all these advancements, it is safe to say that the newest iPhone 14 models from Apple will be the first Android devices to provide performance comparable to or better than the A16 chip in use in the Pro series and will remain the most powerful processors available. However, it is clear that there is a substantial closing of the gap between the two.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The latest leaks regarding the top model of the Galaxy S23 series point that the primary sensor for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a resolution of 200 MP. It will resemble the Galaxy S22 Ultra in terms of various camera sensors outside the primary camera. There is, however, no precise information available.

A leak comparing the Galaxy S23 Ultra and S22 Ultra surfaced last month. We can clearly see that the S23 Ultra differs significantly from the S22 Ultra in an image of the primary cameras of both devices and was then 16 times magnified. The image on the S23 Ultra is noticeably sharper. The high-megapixel sensor’s advantage is that every detail is visible, including the lines on the doors.

Additionally, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have 50MP and 12MP photography modes in addition to 200MP. It will then be possible to shoot detailed images with the 200MP mode. Or take shots with the 12MP and 50MP modes.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra appears to be competing for the title of Android phone with the best camera. Compared to its old model, the S22 Ultra, there appears to be a big difference. Of course, until the phone becomes available, we have no idea what we will encounter. The device will be available in February 2023.
