POCO C55 teased for the Indian market

POCO C55

POCO recently unveiled the POCO C50 in the Indian market. The device was a very intriguing launch, after all, it’s a rebranded Redmi A1+. The device left me and many consumers confused. What would be the point of selling the same device at a higher price? No one knows, but Xiaomi probably had its reasons. Perhaps, the POCO C50 was there just to open the road for the POCO C55. The brand is now teasing a new POCO C-series smartphone with that moniker.

POCO C55

POCO’s official Twitter account for India has started its marketing campaign for the device. According to the media handle, the POCO C55 will deliver “Speed and Swag”. Things got worse with weird sentences like “Avoid cases” and “Good Looks” are we looking at devices with some kind of rugged durability, but that still look good? Perhaps I’m just expecting too much from the marketing campaign of a low-end handset.

POCO C55 specifications

Of course, the specs of the POCO C55 are still a mystery. But it’s not hard to expect it to come as a low-end handset. Anyway, it seems that the device has a beautiful design and you will probably avoid cases to hide its design. The tipster Yogesh Brar shared an image that shows the POCO C55 with a faux leather look. There are also faux seams in the vertical. Apart from the faux leather in green color, we can see the usual big black rectangle that has been a trademark of POCO phones.

Upon the left part, there is a dual-camera setup. We are probably looking at a camera with a higher resolution and a depth sensor. There is a third hole with an “AI” saying and a LED flash for dark environments. The POCO C55 seems to be an incremental upgrade over the POCO C50 while the POCO C60 does not come.

POCO C55 alleged specifications

As per GSMArena, the device may end up being a rebranded Redmi 12C. If that’s the case, the device will get a 6.71-inch 1,650 x 720 pixels LCD screen. Under the hood, the Helio G85 with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Storage. The device has a 50 MP rear camera with a 0.08 MP depth sensor. There is also a 5 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W wired charging support.

We’ll have to wait for more details regarding the launch date and price. However, that should happen in the next few days.
