In the month leading up to
Musk's acquisition of the company,
Twitter staff were given assurances. They were told that they will get the full amount of their 2022 bonuses. The staff claims that the promises were from several executives of the company at the time including the former CFO Ned Segal. But with the arrival of Musk, these promises about bonuses have not been implemented so far.
Lawyers for the lead plaintiff in the
lawsuit, Mark Schobinger, a former senior director of compensation who left
Twitter just last month, are seeking a class action on behalf of current and former Twitter staff. Shannon Liss-Riordan, an attorney for the plaintiffs, said Twitter was owed "tens of millions of dollars" in bonuses.
