Telegram Launches Stories Feature for Premium subscribers

Telegram, the popular messaging app, has recently launched a new feature that many users have been eagerly anticipating: Stories. This feature allows users to share photos and videos that disappear after a certain time period, much like on competitor apps Instagram and Snapchat.

However, Telegram has added some unique twists to its Stories feature. Users can choose when their Story will expire, with options ranging from 6 to 48 hours. This is different from most apps that only allow Stories to last for 24 hours. Additionally, Telegram allows users to create lists of contacts for different Stories. This means that users can share a specific Story with a select group of people, such as friends or coworkers.

Gizchina News of the week

While everyone can view Telegram Stories, only Premium subscribers can post them. The cost of a Premium subscription is $4.99 per month. But subscribers who sign up via the web can get a discount. This may be a bit of a disappointment for some users who were hoping to use the feature for free. But it’s worth noting that many of the other features offered with a Premium subscription are useful as well. Such as the ability to send larger files and the option to use multiple accounts on the same device.

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov initially had reservations about adding Stories to the app, but the feature was highly requested by users. Now, he says he can’t imagine Telegram without it. The interface for Telegram Stories is similar to what you find in other apps that already offer Stories, with a list of available Stories at the top of the list of chats. Users can send reactions and reply to someone else’s Story, just like on Instagram and Snapchat.

To try out the new Stories feature, users need to download the latest version of the Telegram app. Although the feature is currently only available to Premium subscribers, the use of the word “currently” suggests that it may become free for all users at some point in the future. Overall, Telegram Stories is a welcome addition to the app, offering users more options and flexibility than many of its competitors.
