What is “Spot the Station” app?

Spot the Station is a mobile app developed by NASA that allows users to track the location of the International Space Station (ISS) from Earth. The app is available for free on both iOS and Android devices. It helps users locate the ISS and display its location on a map.

How does it work?

Spot The Station uses data from Mission Control at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX to calculate sighting opportunities for over 6,700 locations worldwide. The app gives users a list of upcoming space station sighting opportunities for their location. If a user’s specific city or town is not available, they can pick one that is fairly close to them.
