Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event witnessed the launch of the Galaxy AI and Galaxy S24 smartphone series. The new Galaxy S24 lineup includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, at the event’s conclusion, the South Korean tech company teased a smart ring known as the Galaxy Ring. Nevertheless, the brand did not reveal anything intriguing about the product.

What has Samsung stated regarding the Galaxy Ring afterwards? The company stated that it is a “cutting-edge device and a powerful and accessible health and wellness device, here to change the shape of future health like only Samsung can.” According to Samsung, this is what they refer to as a “cutting-edge” ring. Dr. Matthew Wiggins, a clinical research scientist at Samsung Research, made the announcement.

The Galaxy Ring’s teaser image raises the possibility that it will seem black. Later this year, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Ring’s specifications and availability. It is anticipated to compete with smart rings such as Oura and Evie. The second Galaxy Unpacked event this year, which may take place in July to unveil the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphones, will be Samsung’s next big event. The Galaxy Ring may launch with the new foldable devices.

Consequently, the corporation added some exciting new features to the Health app. The Samsung Health app will include capabilities including applying sleep tracking algorithms to detect possible indications of sleep apnea, continuous heart rate notifications while you sleep, and certain blood oxygen fluctuations driven by Galaxy AI. Additionally, a Fitbit-like feature known as “My Vitality Score” has been revealed that uses exercise, sleep patterns, and heart rate data to assess users’ mental and physical health.

Smart Ring Features (Expected)

Past sources have suggested that the Galaxy Ring would support smart home controls and EKG. Samsung’s first smart ring is expected to handle tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading data relating to exercise, sleep, and health, according to a patent application spotted in February 2023. Furthermore, Samsung could include a few AI functions in its initial smart ring. Unfortunately, the reports didn’t reveal any further information. However, we may anticipate the launch of the Galaxy Ring at the second Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Price and Availability

Samsung stated that the Galaxy Ring will be “coming soon.” Unfortunately, they did not reveal the pricing or a launch date. However, if we compare the Galaxy Ring to some of the most popular smart rings on the market, such as the Oura Ring 3, it is expected to cost roughly $300.
