So, the codename “Thetis,” referencing the Greek sea goddess, could symbolize a new era of processor performance for Samsung. The 2nm process promises significant advancements in transistor density, potentially leading to improved efficiency and performance compared to current-generation chips. The Exynos 2600 will compete with Apple’s A-series, M-series, and AI chips.

The Exynos 2600 will likely be the main processor for the Galaxy S26 series globally. Some report regional differences. Reports indicate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC may be in use in the US, China, and Canada.

Another intriguing report surrounding the Exynos 2600 is the potential for Samsung to introduce their own in-house designed graphics processing unit (GPU). This would mark a shift from using AMD GPUs in previous Exynos models like the Exynos 2400 and the upcoming Exynos 2500. If these reports prove true, the Exynos 2600 could represent a major step towards Samsung’s complete in-house development of high-performance mobile processors.

So, Apple will likely unveil their 2nm chipset in the iPhone 17 series by September 2025. Samsung targets a later release for the Exynos 2600. This upcoming chip signifies the company‘s commitment to continuous innovation in mobile processing technology. And it will be interesting to see how it compares to offerings from competitors when it arrives in early 2026.
