Apple unveiled the
AirPods Pro 3 today, bringing meaningful upgrades across audio, health, and everyday use. The new earbuds double the noise-cancelling strength of the previous model. They come with reworked internals and foam ear tips in five sizes that greatly enhance the experience. Apple is
calling them the most effective in-ear ANC headphones available.
Noise Cancellation, Battery, and Sound Improvements
Sound quality has also been tuned with deeper bass and a broader soundstage. Battery life rises to 8 hours with ANC active — about a third longer than before — and up to 10 hours in transparency mode.
The
AirPods Pro 3 now include a heart rate sensor that connects with the iPhone Fitness app, capable of tracking more than 50 types of exercise. Workout Buddy provides coaching insights, while Fitness+ subscribers get live stats like calories and heart rate during training sessions.
New Features Beyond Audio
Apple has also refined accessibility. The Hearing Aid function is now certified in the UK and EU, while Conversation Boost turns on automatically in noisy spaces, amplifying speech while cutting background noise.
The new
AirPods Pro 3 also include some design tweaks. The changes make the earbuds smaller and more stable, based on extensive user testing. They also carry an IP57 rating for dust and water protection. This is certainly a neat addition that makes a difference in day-to-day.
Another important addition is live translation. Two people with
AirPods Pro 3 can converse in different languages and hear translations in real time. If only one has the earbuds, an iPhone can display live transcripts on-screen. At launch, English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish are supported. MOre languages such as Italian, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese are arriving later this year.
The
AirPods Pro 3 are available to pre-order now for $
249 in more than 50 regions, with sales starting September 19.
