Apple is planning a two-day product showcase in Los Angeles on October 27 and 28, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. It could bring the first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen. Gurman says it is likely Apple's last major product launch of 2026. Apple has not confirmed the event or any of the products.

An Event Built for Creators

Gurman says this will not be a traditional live-streamed event. Apple's marketing team is preparing hands-on sessions for content creators and press, on the evening of October 27 and across the day on October 28.
The format would be similar to Apple's October 13 event, which Apple has already confirmed and which focuses on smart home products. The first launches are expected on or around Tuesday, October 27.

The MacBook Pro Is the Star

The main product is a redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, internally codenamed K114 and K116. Reports say it will have an OLED touchscreen, M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and a Dynamic Island in place of the notch. That would make it the first touchscreen Mac. Cellular connectivity is a hope, not a confirmed feature. Apple has long avoided touch on its laptops, so this would be a real shift for the product line.

M6 Macs and a Pricier iPad mini

Gurman also expects a 14-inch MacBook Pro and a 24-inch iMac with M6 chips, both in their current designs. The iMac may get new colors. The iPad mini 8 is expected to have an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip, a landscape front camera, new speakers and water resistance. Gurman says it will be "considerably more expensive" than the current $599 model and guesses it will cost closer to $799. If he is right, that is a $200 jump for Apple's smallest iPad.

What to Keep in Mind

None of this is official. Dates and details can still change. A Mac Studio with 512GB of memory is also expected in late October, but it may not appear at the Los Angeles event. Prices for the Macs have not been confirmed. Anyone planning to buy a new Mac or iPad mini this year may want to wait for the event, but should treat every spec here as a rumor until Apple speaks.
