We're living amidst dark times in the realm of technology, when it comes to the price of hardware. With the AI strongholds demanding more and more components like RAM, the demand becomes high. As a result, the prices have been skyrocketing for certain memory pieces that compose our favorite gadgets. According to reports, smartphones won't be an exception for much longer, and users will soon experience price hikes in this segment. Apple has been rumored to raise the price of its next iPhones, but now a new report brings some good news. It seems that the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will cost the same as their predecessors.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Will Retain the Prices of Their Predecessors

The big surprise here is that, at least in 2027, the iPhones won't be another casualty of the memory crisis. Apple is doing its best to keep the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max prices the same as their iPhone 17 counterparts. The new info comes from research by GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu.
This certainly falls as good news for those waiting for the next iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, and it's a surprising twist. According to Pu, Apple is focused on cost management, based on his supply chain research, to keep the prices the same as last year.

Apple is Negotiating the Memory Prices With Suppliers

Pu thinks Apple has been negotiating with Samsung and SK Hynix to get relatively favorable memory chip deals. For that reason, he expects Apple to be capable of reducing the costs of other iPhone components, including the display and cameras, to compensate for the increase in RAM cost.

As per the rumors, Apple will unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max this year. The iPhone Fold will launch alongside. There are also rumors about the next iPhone Air coming in September, but as far as the vanilla iPhone 18 is concerned, it is said to launch only in early 2027 alongside a more affordable iPhone 18e.
We expect more details to surface in due time, but in a segment that is expected to see price increases in the coming months, Apple may gain some advantage keeping the same usual prices.
