After multiple leaks and teasers,
Honor is finally unveiling the
Honor Magic V Flip 2 in China. The company's latest take on the clamshell foldable segment is here with impressive specifications, including a large battery that rivals standard smartphones. This is the
brand's new bet to take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Motorola Razr 60 Ultra. The device also brings a powerful processor and a 200 MP main camera, plus a powerful 50 MP shooter for selfies.
Honor Magic V Flip 2 Features and Specifications
One of
Honor Magic V Flip 2's highlights certainly is its 200 MP rear camera. It's a 1/1.4-inch sensor with f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization. It's a powerful module capable of capturing stunning shots with a lot of details. This camera is joined by a 50 MP ultrawide camera with 120 degree FOV, the perfect option for taking group shots. Finally, we have a 50 MP front-facing shooter, which makes this device a powerful option for capturing the best selfies.
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 draws its power from a huge 5,500mAh battery. This capacity is amazing considering that this is a clamshell foldable, and devices of this kind often have compact batteries. However, thanks to the use of the silicon-carbon battery, Honor was able to fit more capacity in the new smartphone. To make things even more interesting, the device supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Moreover, it supports 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
The new foldable smartphone also boasts a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED inner display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display has a resolution of 2,868 x 1232 pixels and has a rated peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Of course, Honor follows the trend of delivering outer displays that are usable. The phone brings a 4.0-inch external screen of the LTPO OLED kind. It has up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 x 1,092 pixels of resolution, and 3,600 nits of peak brightness.
Smart Cover Screen with Adorable Pets
Honor is putting great emphasis on the cover screen. The company introduces a new theme within the personalized exterior, featuring nine adorable pets, including a white-faced saki, a West Highland white terrier, and even a lucky cloud. By performing air gestures towards the cover screen, these cute pets will hand over items to you, such as a clover, coins, or a flower, symbolizing good fortune. Users can also interact with the pets by tapping the cover screen.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Flagship Performance
Under the hood, the Honor Magic V Flip 2 comes with the Qualcomm
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It has up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of Internal Storage. The device runs Android 15-based Magic OS 9.0.1 straight out of the box. We can expect it to receive Android 16 and a new version of
MagicOS in the coming months. Of course, with the current software, the device is already equipped with a set of interesting features, including Honor's AI features, such as AI Image to Video, AI Smart Reply, Interpreter, and Magic Capsule.
