HONOR has
announced that the
HONOR Magic8 Pro will be one of the first phones to support
Android 17 Beta 3 for developers. The move will give app developers early access to new Android features. It lets them test apps, fix problems, and make sure everything runs well before the full Android 17 release arrives. HONOR says this also shows its close work with Google and its focus on helping developers prepare for future Android updates.
Android 17 Beta 3 Brings New Features
Android 17 Beta 3 adds several new tools for both developers and users. The update focuses on better multitasking, improved privacy, more control over the interface, and stronger security. One of the biggest additions is system-wide Bubbles. This lets supported apps run in floating windows, making multitasking easier.
Furthermore, the new update also adds native RAW14 support. This helps camera apps capture and process more image data, resulting in better detail and color quality. This will work pretty well with HONOR’s AiMAGE camera system.

Improved Quick Settings, Enhanced Dark Mode and Security For a Better Experience with the Honor Magic8 Pro
The update also improves Quick Settings by splitting Wi-Fi and mobile data into separate buttons. This makes it faster to turn each one on or off. The Screen recording gets a simpler design, too. Users can quickly choose to record the full screen or just one app.
Moving on, the Dark mode also gets better controls. Users can enable or disable forced dark mode for each app. Security has also improved. Android 17 Beta 3 adds safer location access, blocks local network access by default, and adds stronger app protection for future security threats.
The
HONOR Magic8 Pro already packs strong hardware, including a fast chipset, a large battery, and an advanced camera system. With Android 17 Beta 3 support, developers can now build and test apps that take full advantage of these features.
There are still a couple of months to come ahead of Android 17's final release, but considering Honor's presence in the beta program, their devices will certainly be among the first to enjoy the final release.
