After months of leaks and teasers,
Google has
officially lifted the curtain on its Pixel 10 lineup. The event in Brooklyn, New York, brought
big news:
four new phones, including the
Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro,
Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the
headline grabber — the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
This is not just
another annual refresh.
Google is finally pushing its base Pixel into flagship
territory, while the Fold takes another step toward maturity.
Google Pixel 10 finally gets a telephoto camera
For years,
the standard Pixel models have lagged behind their Pro siblings when it came to
cameras. That changes today.
The Google Pixel
10 carries three rear sensors: a 48MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide, and a
10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. The front gets a 10.5MP selfie shooter
with autofocus.
It’s not
all upgrades, though. The ultrawide is actually a step down compared to the
Pixel 9. Still, the telephoto lens feels like a major addition that makes the
base model more complete.
A brighter
screen and new Tensor G5 chip
Google’s
Tensor G5 chip powers the new phone, built on TSMC’s efficient 3nm process.
Paired with
the Titan M2 chip, 12GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, it promises
smoother performance and faster app loads.
The
6.3-inch Actua display hits 120Hz at Full HD+ resolution. It can now crank up
to 2,000 nits in high brightness mode.
This should
make outdoor use easier than ever. Also, the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 still
covers the screen for added durability.
Bigger
battery and faster charging
The Google Pixel
10 gets a slight bump in battery life, packing a 4,970mAh cell. It supports
wired charging rated at 29W, while wireless charging supports the new Qi2
standard at 15W.
This is
nothing close to what other Android devices have, but it is compatible with Google’s
new Pixelsnap accessories.
Out of the
box, the phone runs
Android 16, and as always, Google promises seven years of
software and security updates.
The Google Pixel
10 is available in Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass, and Obsidian, starting at $799
for the 128GB model and $899 for the 256GB model.
Google Pixel 10
Pro Fold grows into its potential
The Pixel
10 Pro Fold grabbed plenty of attention, too. Its main folding OLED screen
measures 8 inches (2076x2156 LTPO OLED), while the outer cover display grows to 6.4 inches (1080x2364
LTPS OLED).
Both panels
support a 120Hz refresh rate and hit a massive 3,000 nits peak brightness,
making them among the brightest foldable displays on the market.
It runs on
the same
Tensor G5 chip, backed by 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0
storage.
The cameras
include a 48MP main, 10.5MP ultrawide, and 10.8MP telephoto lens, plus two 10MP
selfie cameras, one for each screen.
To keep its
lights on, the battery jumps to 5,015mAh, with 30W wired and 15W Qi2 wireless
charging. A wired half-charge takes just 30 minutes.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
weighs 258g, is IP68-rated, and comes in Moonstone or Jade. It starts at $1,799
for 256GB of storage and will be officially available from October 9.
Google finally levels up
The Google Pixel
10 series feels like a turning point. The base model finally delivers a
complete flagship package, while the Fold takes a meaningful step forward with
real-world improvements.
This year, Google isn’t just catching up, it’s playing
to win.
