UMi look like they are ready to
launch their 6.44-inch
UMi Cross
tablet, and although we haven’t had chance to get a hands on (yet) we did get to see the rear
case main chassis.
Speaking to UMi designer “Superman” we discover that the UMi Cross has been designed around the ‘Golden dimensions”and has been designed with gaming, web surfing in mind.
The
phablet will be available in either white or blue with a square pattern, and UMi promised us that it would be stiff and durable thanks to the steel chassis.
Specs are similar to the
iOcean Skyfall with a 6.44-inch 1080 display, 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T processor,
2GB RAM,
13 mega-pixel camera and a choice of either a standard
Android install or Aliyun OS. We should be getting a hands on with the UMi Cross soon, and they have promised to send over a review unit as soon as they can.

After chatting about the UMi Cross the conversation moved on to the UMi
X3, more specifically they have mentioned that they plan to
launch a
device similar to the UMi
X2 only
thinner, with a larger battery and updated ROM. An increase in size was mentioned, but we could be looking at a
new and improved,
thinner and lighter
X2 rather than a whole
new device.
