Microsoft Reportedly Plans Up to 50% Copilot Discounts for Businesses

Microsoft could soon offer much bigger discounts on its Copilot AI service for businesses. The company is also working on a new Copilot app that could handle more tasks than the current version.

According to IT home, Microsoft has told its sales teams about the planned discounts and they could start as soon as October. Microsoft has not announced these new discounts publicly.

The size of the discount would depend on how many Copilot licenses a company buys.

Businesses buying more than 1,000 licenses could get a discount of around 30%. Companies buying more than 10,000 licenses could get up to 50% off.

However, there is another part to the plan. Some Copilot features could also come with extra fees based on how much they are used. Microsoft is moving toward a system where businesses can pay for both licenses and extra AI use.

Microsoft already offers some Copilot discounts, for example, it lists a 30% discount for certain customers buying between 1,000 and 9,999 licenses. That offer is available until September 30, 2026.

Microsoft is also working on a new Copilot app. The company plans to bring more of its AI tools together in one place.

According to The Information, the app will include coding tools and AI agents. These agents can do more than answer questions, they can use tools and carry out tasks with several steps.

This could make Copilot more useful for businesses instead of only writing text or answering questions, it could help with work inside different apps and services.

Microsoft has already been adding more AI agents to Copilot and the company wants these tools to handle more tasks with less input from the user.

The 30% and 50% figures come from Weibo leaker rather than a public Microsoft price list. Microsoft has confirmed that Copilot will use both license fees and payments based on AI use, but it has not confirmed all of the reported changes.
