Beijing plays televised sunrise due to rising smog levels

Anyone living in China at the moment will know just how serious the pollution has become, and while we know it is bad it is stories like this one which really brings the situation in to perspective!

The image above shows a giant outdoor TV showing the sunrise for Beijingers who are no longer able to watch the real breaking of the dawn due to the amount of smog filling the skies of the capital.

From the logo in the left hand of the TV it appears residence of Beijing are being treated to sunrises from around China, the one being shown here is from someplace in Shandong province.

It is interesting to see technology used in such away, but we would much prefer a new breakthrough which would clean up China’s ever polluted cities.
