OnePlus 16 to Feature Massive 9000mAh Battery and Advanced Charging Tech

Leaks about the upcoming OnePlus 16 are pointing to a huge battery upgrade. The phone could pack a massive 9,000mAh battery. Thats 23% larger than the already impressive 7,300mAh cell found in the OnePlus 15.

If the leak turns out to be true, the OnePlus 16 could become one of the battery champions among flagship smartphones.

The leak hasnt talked just about the 9,000mAh number. According to reports, OnePlus could use a new silicon-carbon anode battery.

Having a larger battery doesnt always mean having better endurance. Manufacturers sometimes limit how much of the battery can be used in order to protect its health.

The new battery technology will help OnePlus make better use of the full capacity. Still keeping the battery healthy over time. Of course, we'll have to wait for real-world testing before knowing exactly what that means for battery life.

The OnePlus 16 isn't expected to rely on its battery alone. Leaks suggest Qualcomm's next flagship processor. A Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, could power the device.

The phone may also feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a refresh rate reaching 185Hz. OnePlus China president has already publicly confirmed the 185Hz figure.

The camera setup is also rumored to be good. OnePlus could use a 200MP main camera alongside two 50MP sensors for the ultrawide and approximately 3.5x periscope zoom cameras.

Most of these details are based on leaks from industry tipsters. OnePlus has yet to reveal the full specifications of the phone.

The battery and display refresh rate appear to have the strongest backing so far, while the rest should still be treated as leaks.

The OnePlus 16 is currently expected to launch in China around September or October 2026. A global release could follow roughly a month later, possibly in November.
