Xiaomi M1s released with Qualcomm Scorpion 1.7GHz dual-core for 1499 Yuan

As we expected and was rumored Xiaomi have announced an updated version of their Xiaomi M1 named the M1s. The new phone gets a few updated and a surprisingly low price.

The Xiaomi M1s has just been launched in Beijing for the low low price of only 1499 Yuan which is about $235. Although no photos of the Xiaomi M1s have been published people at the Xiaomi conference state the new updated phone looks very similar to the original M1 just as we published last week with these leaked Xiaomi M1s photos.

Some highlights of the new Xiaomi M1s include an updated 8 mega-pixel rear camera, the inclusion of a front 2 mega-pixel camera and a dual-core Qualcomm Scorpion CPU clocked at 1.7ghz.

The screen seems to be the same 4 inch model as the last generation Xiaomi M1. The strange thing is the new updated and faster Xiaomi M1s costs only a little more than the old M1 which has received a price drop to 1299 Yuan ($200).

So the question is which dual-core Xiaomi would you buy? The cheaper M1 or the slightly more expensive M1s with updated rear camera, built in front camera and much more powerful 1.7 ghz dual-core CPU?
