Expectations among smartphone fans and Samsung enthusiasts are now focused on the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. Despite some rumors suggesting changes, Samsung is still expected to launch the traditional trio of devices: the standard model, the Plus variant, and the Ultra. Naturally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is drawing the most attention thanks to its top-tier specifications. While this flagship has yet to go official, leaks are already revealing early details about next year’s Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Coming With Custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro

Reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station claims the Galaxy S27 Ultra will continue the recent trend of using only a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. According to reports, Samsung may introduce a new custom version of the chip, possibly called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. This chipset is said to be based on Samsung’s 2nm manufacturing process.
Such a move would point to deeper collaboration between Samsung and Qualcomm. Qualcomm may rely on Samsung’s foundry yields for its next flagship Snapdragon platform, while Samsung could secure a special variant of the chipset optimized for its premium device.
TSMC is reportedly facing capacity challenges and lagging behind Samsung in the transition to 2nm manufacturing. As a result, chipmakers are exploring alternatives. Industry watchers report that Samsung has improved its yield issues and could emerge as a strong alternative for next-generation 2nm chips.
