This has come as quite a surprise to us at AOST! Last time we heard about the current state of Chinese made Android tablets we were left with the impression that local Chinese factories were unable to make tablets with higher end hardware due to price issues, but yet here we are introducing this Tegra 2 equipped Android tablet from a factory in Shenzhen.
Shenzhen China is pretty famous for the electronics hardware that comes our of the area, more so for the huge number of fake and knock off equipment, and while this Qpad branded tablet is meant to be a unique design we can’t help but think we’ve seen the design before! The Viewsonic Viewpad tablet perhaps?

Under the familiar aesthetically pleasing plastic body and 10 inch multi-touch screen lies some rather nice hardware surprises. There’s that dual-core Nvidia 1Ghz Tegra 2 chip for a start, then there is a very generous 512mb RAM and some sprightly 3D graphics acceleration hardware.
Despite the fact the Qpad quite obviously has enough grunt to run Andriod 3.0 Honeycomb, the latest tablet ready OS does not come loaded on the Qpad. Instead it gets Android 2.2.
There’s no news on when the Qpad will launch and how much it will cost, but if it runs as well as we expect and costs around $400 the makers of Qpad may have found their first customer!
