OriginOS 7 Beta Is Now Open for These 14 Vivo and iQOO Devices

Vivo is getting ready for OriginOS 7, and users can now get an early look at the new software. The company has opened its internal beta program in China, with 14 Vivo and iQOO phones and tablets on the first list.

There are only 3,000 places available for each device, though, so getting in isn't guaranteed.

Vivo has included some of its latest flagship phones, foldables and tablets. iQOO users are also getting several places in the first OriginOS 7 beta.

Each model gets 3,000 beta slots. Vivo will enable logging on 500 of them, while the other 2,500 users will test the software without it.

That's quite a large test group when you add all 14 devices together. In total, Vivo could have up to 42,000 users testing OriginOS 7 during this phase.

Registration opened on September 7 at 10 AM in China and will close on September 13 at 11:59 PM. Vivo plans to announce the selected users by September 15.

Those who get in won't have to wait long. The first OriginOS 7 beta should arrive on September 16 between 3 PM and 6 PM local time.

You can apply directly from your device. Go to Settings > System Management and Upgrade > System Upgrade > Upgrade Early Access and follow the steps from there.

Vivo makes it clear that this is an early test build, so I wouldn't install it on a phone I need every day. The company warns about bugs, higher battery use and problems with some third-party apps.

The good news is that installing the beta shouldn't delete your files. Still, Vivo recommends making a full backup first, and I would definitely do that before installing any early beta.

OriginOS 7 is expected to bring a new look, smoother animations and several changes across Vivo's apps and system tools. We'll learn much more about it soon, with Vivo expected to show the new software in full later this month.

For now, 42,000 possible testers across 14 devices should give Vivo plenty of feedback before OriginOS 7 reaches more users.
