While the
flagship Vivo Xplay 3S continues to grab the limelight, another
device from the same company, this time a Mediatek powered one, makes an
appearance.
This newcomer -- the
Vivo Y20 -- will come with the current apple of the eye of China's smartphone
industry, the quad-core Mediatek
MT6582 chipset. However, the
device will set itself apart from other locally manufactured
phones thanks to goodies like an audio decoder chip (the PCM5101A) from
Texas Instruments and dual 8 mega-pixel shooters (84 degree wide-angle front, f/2.2 rear) thrown in by Vivo, all in the 7.49mm
thin body. Other specifications of the phone include a
5.5-inch 720p
screen, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 2,500mAh battery and
Android v4.2 overlaid by Vivo's Funtouch OS.
No word on pricing yet, but it is speculated that the phone will cost somewhere around the ¥2,000 (~$320) mark.
