1. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is powered by the top-of-the-line 10-core Mediatek technology.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro features the most powerful Mediatek 10-core processor on the market, clocked at 2.5GHz.
It also includes the excellent Mali-880 GPU and ensures a 30% improved efficiency over other chipsets with similar technology.
2. The Redmi Pro is Xiaomi's first phone with dual rear cameras.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro features two cameras at the rear in order to create photos with shallow depth of field and thus have a blurry background, which is called bokeh in photography lingo.
This result is achieved by using a primary camera, the 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 equipped with an aperture of F/2.0 in this case, and a secondary 5-megapixel Samsung camera for depth information logging.
Then a dedicated ImagiQ image processor does the magic.
3. It is the first Xiaomi phone to have an OLED display.
Redmi Pro will be the first Xiaomi smartphone to boast a 5.5-inch Full HD OLED display. The OLED technology allows the display to have a very high contrast ratio (60000:1) and vivid colors.
Surely a great addition in a mid-range smartphone!
4. ...and a front-facing fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi Pro is the first device of the Redmi product line with a fingerprint sensor on the front. This may not seem very important by itself, but overall it shows how Xiaomi are keen on getting their ergonomics right.
Completely redesigning the device in order to fit the second camera on the back, while keeping such an important feature as the fingerprint sensor.
5. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro will be the first new Xiaomi phone to ship with MIUI 8.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro will be the first device to run
MIUI 8 out of the box. The new MIUI OS which was announced last month, is still in beta on a great amount of Redmi devices, so this is something that should make you happy.
6. It boasts a USB Type-C charging connector.
As the market seems to be getting away from the Micro-USB standard, also Xiaomi decided to drop it and boast a new USB Type-C port. Which allows for reversible plug orientation and thus making your life easier.
7. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro features CNC chamfered edges, 2.5D curved glass, and more.
The Redmi Pro features a full metal unibody design with a brushed metal finish and CNC chamfered edges, the OLED display is covered with a 2.5D shaped glass which improves both the look and feel of the device.
8. There are three variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro will be available in three different variants, so that you can decide between saving money or having better performance overall.

9. You can either use Dual SIM or Single SIM + Micro SD on the Redmi Pro.
You might not need two SIMs, but I'm pretty sure you will like the possibility of adding a Micro SD to store your movies and what else. Not that many smartphones still give you this choice, so I thought you'll find it a useful info!
