Xiaomi
looks ready to grow its budget series once more with the addition of a new
Redmi A7. According to recent
reports, this device has now passed a fresh certification in Thailand. The
phone was spotted on the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications
Commission (NBTC) list with model code 26020RNB4A. It was also found on the Eurasian
Economic Commission site not long ago.
When
a phone clears these steps, it often means a launch is close. This news came
soon after rumors of the
Redmi A7 Pro made waves. Many now think both phones
may be launched at the same time in the next few weeks.
Big
Screen, Big Battery, No 5G
The
Redmi A7 will stick to 4G. There is no sign of 5G here. For many users, that
may not be a big loss, afterall, it’s a budget phone. In lots of places, 4G is
still fast and works well. The Pro model may also skip 5G. It seems clear that
speed is not the main aim of this device. The size, long battery life, and low-cost
look like the real focus.
Leaks
say the phone may have a huge 6.9-inch LCD with 720p+ resolution and a
120Hz refresh
rate. That is a lot for a budget phone. The chip may be the Unisoc T7250 and it
may run on Android 15 with HyperOS 3 out of the box.
There
are also claims that this device will come with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of
internal storage. It will be equipped with a 50MP main camera on the rear as
well as a 13MP front camera for selfies. Under the hood, there will be a decent
6000 mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.
Is
a POCO Twin on the Way?
There
is one more twist – POCO may launch two new phones soon, the POCO C81 and POCO
C81 Pro. Some feel these could be the same as the Redmi A7 pair in some regions.
This
would not be new. Xiaomi has done this in the past, with small changes in RAM
or storage size but as of the time of writing, there is no official
confirmation of this report. If the leaks are true, the Redmi A7 could be a top
pick for fans who want a huge screen and long battery life at a fair price.
