Few weeks after it
announced that the ZTE AXon 7 has reached its end of life and will no longer manufacture fresh units, the company has confirmed via its online forum that the device will still receive some OS updates.
The company in its Z-Union in Europe (that’s basically the Z-Community in the United States) forum thread earlier today confirmed that it is preparing Android 8.0 build for the global unlocked version of the
ZTE Axon 7, and it also welcomes feature suggestions from its fans Worldwide. The time frame it will be made available is however not certain, but we expect that to happen pretty soon.
Below is
ZTE's official forum post confirming the Android 8.0 Oreo for
Axon 7:
We can only imagine the
Axon 7’s end and subsequent Oreo update means a successor which most likely would be the Axon 8 is in the offing.
ZTE acknowledges the device’s existence on Twitter, so it’s now only a matter of when it’ll arrive. We’re also curious to see what improvements and new features will be on the new device when it arrives.
