Cyberworm Attack


Chinese business were warned on Sunday of a highly sophisticated cyber weapon know as Stuxnet. The cyber worm has been designed to infiltrate Siemens supervisory control and data (SCADA) systems which are commonly used to monitor and control industrial facilities ranging from traffic lights to nuclear power plants. Personal computers are apparently safe.
Stuxnet gets in to industrial systems by exploiting 3 security holes in Windows then sets to work sabotaging the operating system.
Nationally the malware has been found in water purification plants and chemical plants both of which could threaten the safety of people living near by.
Globally Stuxnet has infected more than 30,000 ip addresses mostly in India, Iran and Indonesia
