Beidou recently teamed up with
ZTE to launch the U950, a 999 Yuan
quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3
phone bearing the
Little Pepper brand name, but like all
Little Pepper phones the trail and turned cold only to appear again with more interesting details!
Beidou originally
launched the world's cheapest dual-core phone, the
Little Pepper dual-core, last year which made headlines, but didn't please customers who complained of poor performance and bad
quality. Undeterred, Beidou set to working with
ZTE to release the world's cheapest
quad-core phone, which they have unveiled, but not released!
So what is the hold up? Well it appears the hold up might be to do with the fact that Beidou are rumoured to be working with 3 different
chipset makers on 3 different
quad-core phones ranging in size from 4.5-inch to
4.7-inch.
Sources close to Beidou claim the company is working with Mediatek, Qualcomm and Nvidia chips to produce their next generation phone, however this is slowing down development as resources are stretched.
So, it seems that we are still in for a wait to see what appears from Beidou and ZTE's partnership!
