Neken N5 is another HTC Butterfly clone but with a higher spec and lower price!

Chinese phone makers are just getting in to make their own versions (clones) of the 5-inch HTC Butterfly. First their was the Star S5, and now there is the Neken N5, but with a lower price and better spec the Neken N5 get’s our vote.

Neken are either teaming up with other phone manufacturers and having hardware updated to meet their specifications, or are just going out and taking a great deal of inspiration from others. The Neken N6, which we featured earlier looks a lot like the iOcean X7 and the Neken N5 like the Star S5 Butterfly.

Gizchina News of the week

There are differences between the star and Neken phones phone. The N5 has a 5 mega-pixel front camera and 13 mega-pixel rear for starters, and the price of the N5 is lower at only 799 Yuan ($128).

The N5 will go on sale on April 11th on-line in China, with international resellers likely to pick them up not long after.

There is also the MIZ Z2, a HTC butterfly clone like the Star S5. With the same specs as the S5.

The atricle says it has the same specs as the s5 but a better camera. If this is right that means:
    mtk6589
    1gb ram
    720p 5 inch display
    android 4.2

Unless they change things due to some ‘delay’ yes 😉

    Hi Andi,

After all this time, we are finally getting there. I have been using a Chinese made, imported, smartphone for nearly a year in the UK – even though its Android level has never been updated – just like the Dell Streak I owned, for 2 years before it – so I’ve stopped worrying about ‘life without OTA updates’.

These specs will delight the UK market; and my website (www.70plus-feeling50.com) will be updated to offer a small selection of Chinese, low price, high spec’, value products within the next month.

It’s going to be fun … watch this space !

antutu shows a 5mp (4.9mp) and 12.6mp, an Star S5. This makes me think that the cameras are probably the same?? If there is a way to see what is the exact model camera is best,.

I got the phone 5 months back. The glass got broken in a month’s time just by a small bend being in my trouser pocket. Absolutely no support from the company. Volume is very less. Sometimes phone behaves strangely.
