The much talked about and hotly anticipated (at least here at GizChina)
Xiaomi Tablet is now rumoured to run a
MT6589T CPU suggesting it will support 3G and calling!
Xiaomi love to keep their fans guessing, and with mixed
rumours surrounding the ‘
Purple rice’ Xiaomi
tablet they are certainly doing that! Earlier
rumours talked of the Mi
tablet running on a Mediatek MT8125 quad-core
processor, or even a dated
Tegra 3 chip, but
new evidence suggests another route.
According to those close to Xiaomi, claiming to have insider knowledge of the
tablet project, Xioami may have decided upon using a 1.5Ghz Quad-core Mediatek
MT6589T processor. This would also suggest that the Xiaomi
tablet will be able to make and receive calls and could even boasts a
SD card expansion bay and dual-sim support (the
Xiaomi Red Rice offers these features and is also based on the same SoC).
The 7-inch 1280 x 720 tablet, will also come with 1GB RAM, 16GB memory a 4000mAh battery, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and will run a
new version of
MIUI developed for
tablet use!
Xiaomi are expected to officially unveil the ‘Purple rice’ tablet on 5th September at a price of just 999 Yuan ($160).
