Zopo offering some really cool goodies to ZP998 pre-order customers!

China’s Zopo have gone one step ahead in trying to ensure customer satisfaction with these cool gift packages!

Zopo launched the ZP998, their current flagship, a few weeks back in China. The ZP998 is Zopo’s first phone to feature the octa-core MT6592 chipset from MediaTek. We posted an in-dept review of the device earlier today, if you missed it. In a bid to ensure greater customer satisfaction (and perhaps an apologetic gesture), the company will be offering a gift package containing some cool goodies.

Gizchina News of the week

Zopo shared pictures of this gift package on their official Facebook page. From what we can make, customers who made pre-orders for the ZP998 will get an 8GB ‘Cuppy’ dual USB (regular + micro USB plugs) USB drives that can directly connect to your OTG-enabled smartphone, a screen protector, case, capacitive stylus, etc.

How cool is that? Quite a bit, I think!

I’m sure that a lot of customers agree with you: Zopo manages this ZP998 launch in the worse way! A poor gift as described above it’s nothing and Zopo’s prices aren’t so aggressive as other competitors… Better to wait for the imminent octa-core products (maybe with MTK6595 processor).

Fabulous, good on Zopo, when is it likely to be ready for launch ? Would you choose this over the imminently available Huwaei Honor 3X ?

i cancelled my order and buy another brand…Because ZOPO and holds promise anything,
Said 32 GB 16 GB given
Said the white color to black
Gave free shipping code, but it did not work and We have completed our $ 21 Shipping
Said supply immediately after the 35 days have not sent
They have no reliable word so why believe that their product better?

Zopo India is different than the real Zopo.

I also cancelled my order and have received full payment from Zopo. Thanks for the honesty at least better than the insecurity of Pomp. But I think a very smart move for Zopo would be to retain all the dissatisfied customers on a data base and offer something special to them when they have fixed all their initial problems with the phones. If they offer a special promotion they might just recoup some of their lost face and wasted money. This is how real companies operate in the West.

how can people prefer this over a 32gb ROM, don’t get me wrong but that’s not worth it compared to 32gb

I Didn’t pre-order a Zopo, so it’s a bit annoying (100 times less than the Jiyu mess up). But I think it is an actual gesture. It might not be a killer gift set but it’s an acknowledgement and obviously a small apology. So good on Zopo.

I wish INew could do similar thing for the reported 1000 Inew V3 not having OTG working. I have one. Still waiting for response from SpeMall (merchant) and INew.

Do a Paypal complaint, Zopo do not contest but refund the money immediately. Supposedly you should also be able to cancel order directly on the site, but how2 remains obscure.

At least they made a gesture. Some folks vote extra battery but I’m not fond of popping the back off my phone at any regular rate… I’d rather they release a stable 4.4.2 rom almost immediately after ota update. And a portable power bank. A fast 32gb SD is the other alternative.

I really wish you would exercise a bit of investigative acumen instead of just reposting press releases. This is a slightly expanded gift/accesory bundle that was part of the original pre-launch offer for a 32gb phone. The improved bundle is supposed to be worth $40, judge for yourself, It was offered as compensation as Zopo did not deliver the Free shipping they offered as part of original pre-order deal. Many customers thought they would receive this bundle, only to find out a last week that it was only customers who had paid for special freight that would get it. It is still not clear if the bundle actually will reach customers who paid full postage as a recent email from the company urges you to buy it for $29 to facilitate tax paperwork. The actual compensation Zopo offered for switch selling a 32gb phone for a 16gb one was a 16gb SD T card. Customers who accepted the lower specification phone, had a 50% chance of getting a 32gb SD card – IF they accepted the lower specification phone within 48 hours of receiving the notification. It is still not clear if any of these cards will arrive with the phone, if at all.
