HTC One 2 (m8) Appears On French Governmental Site, Has Dual SIM Support

A lot of talk has been given to the name of HTC’s next flagship phone. We have known the internal codename for it, the HTC m8, for a while now, but the consumer name has eluded even the web’s greatest leakers. Now one small French Governmental site may have spilled the beans.

According to listings on theĀ New Caledoniaā€™s Office of Posts and Telecommunications website, which helps users determine if their phone supports the cellular networks in the area, the sequel to the HTC One, will be called the HTC One 2, not the HTC One+ or the HTC m8.

It’s kind of an awkward name, but perhaps they are planning on having a Boxer promote it. I could see Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather holding it, saying something corny like “After I’m done giving my opponents the ‘One, Two’ in the ring, I grab my HTC One 2 to get updates from the rest of the Boxing world.”

Okay, maybe I’m not a marketing wizard, but I’m not the one that came up with the name.

Interestingly, the site also had a section for the HTC One 2 Dual-SIM suggesting that the phone will come in a version built for international travel.

At press time, the selection was still visible on the French site. We will have more as it breaks.
