Celkon Campus Mini A350: $62 piece of kit that runs KitKat out of the box

Celkon added another device to the list of entry-level KitKat phones with the Campus Mini A350 earlier today. The India based vendor announced the smartphone for an affordable price of 3,799 INR or $62.

As you would expect from a device as affordable as this one, there isn’t much under the hood to speak of. Going through the paces, anyway – it comes with a 3.5-inch 320 x 480 pixel display and a dual-core CPU that clocked at 1.3GHz (believed to be the MT6572, or a variant thereof) along with 256MB of RAM to barely take the device through the line that separates feature phones and smartphones.

Gizchina News of the week

Given the divide between internet-savvy and the non-internet savvy consumer share in a market such as India, the Celkon Campus Mini A350 perhaps does make more sense than you think. Having said that, this one’s definitely not for the cutting-edge tech freak!
