Mlais M52 Red Note will be the world’s cheapest MT6752, Lollipop phone

mlais m52 red note

Mlais have sent us exciting information for their M52 Red Note, a $160 MT6752 smartphone boasting Android 5.0 and launching later this month.

Not everyone with an exciting device is at MWC this week. Chinese phone maker Mlais have sent over details of their upcoming phone which packs in a lot of high-end features at a low price.

The M52 Note will retail at only $149.99 during a pre sale launch later this month, and finally settle at $159.99 once online resellers receive stock. What makes the Mlais M52 more attractive than other sub $200 phones though is the fact it comes with the latest octacore MT6752 SoC from Mediatek, 2GB RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop as standard!

Gizchina News of the week

mlais m52 red note

Design-wise the M52 is similar to the Redmi Note, with 5.5-inch 720p display, but will come with an 8 mega-pixel front camera, and 13 mega-pixel rear. The low-cost phablet also supports fast charging for the 3200mAh battery, up to 64gb micro SD cards and dual SIM LTE support.

We’ve asked Mlais to send us more information and launch dates for the M52 Note, and will publish more when we get it. For the money and looking at the specifications though, the latest Mlais is a budget killer.

I bought Jiayu S3 3 gig RAM on Friday at 2330GMT for 170.99$ from club1941DOTcom. It was tracking (info received)on Sat am and dispatched to foreign land (mine) this morning. Price included free shipping with Singapore. Hard to beat that ?

Hey my friend! Go after your money. Club1941 are scammers, they site is now offline, and a guy just posted today, after he ordered a tablet from them, with 220U$ value, he received just a screen protector. They are truly scammers.

    inb4 TD bands with just 2100 3G.

So for has any phone with the new MediaTek SoC’s supported the 850 3G band?

    • Bruce S
      March 2, 2015

      Hi Xalis; the KINGZONE Z1 MT6752 has announced support for 3G – 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100. You’ll have to wait until 15 March 2015 for delivery.

      • Xalis
        March 2, 2015

I just hope the Meizu M1 international supports the 3g 850 band, otherwise the Kingzone should do.

I need to get rid of this Nubia z7 mini and get a real phone.

        • Bruce S
          March 2, 2015

The “basic Meizu M1” (1 GB RAM / 8 GB ROM) does support 3g 850. Surprisingly the Meizu M1 NOTE does not!

Almost sounds to good to be true!

I’ll grab one of these as a backup phone if this plays out to be correct though…

    • Muhammad Yasir
      March 2, 2015

backup phone… dont mind it , but it’s become a bit of a derogatory term for potent killer phones slowly rising and making their mark in the low end market!

Does anybody know a device with MTK6752, 5-inch, Lollipop and 3GB, LTE(

The new Gionee S7 has most of that, only it has 2GB of RAM.

€400 this is twice the price of Jiayu S3

  6. Rob
    March 2, 2015

This sounds very good for the price, not many budget friendly phones come with fast charging! Wouldn’t be surprised if an ‘S’ model came out at some point with a FHD display and 3GB RAM. Would happily pay a bit more for a phone with these specs, especially if the cameras turn out to be good.

      March 2, 2015

im actually NOT stumped about the 720p and 2GB ram… im not an avid mobile gamer and can settle for the gaming performance it’ll offer!
i just hope we dont see no strings attached to this potent killer of a phone!

      • Rob
        March 2, 2015

Nor am I (a heavy gamer), but the low res screen would be a major issue for me. Needs to be FHD once you get past the 5″ barrier. As for the RAM, 3GB is nice to have and not essential as your user habits can change with time. The ROM I don’t care so much since it can be increased by the user with an SD card, but the RAM can never be changed so might as well have plenty to start with.

        • Muhammad Yasir
          March 2, 2015

hmm.. maybe we should wait then….
there arent not 3gb ram , FHD phones coming until Q3 2015 , for prices BELOW 200$ , i gess.

          • Rob
            March 2, 2015

I don’t think we will have to wait that long, once the MT7695 arrives I would expect the price of the MT6752 phones to drop a little and $200 should get us a lot of phone!

            • Muhammad Yasir
              March 2, 2015

thats true too… but market can be very unstable and unpredictable. it can swing either way
i hope it does for the best in due time!
only time will tell tho 😉

        • balcobomber25
          March 2, 2015

I think it all depends on the quality of the display they use. There are some really good 720P displays from Sharp that look excellent, just like there is some cheaper FHD displays that look dull and washed out. On a phone like this 3GB of RAM is just overkill and wasted money.

          • Rob
            March 2, 2015

I agree about the screen as I bought an Inew V7 for a friend and the HD screen on it is amazing, another friend got the kolina k100 and the FHD screen on it is poor. Regarding the RAM, you can never have too much, my kingzone K1 always ran with 70-80% full even after closing everything so if the software isn’t well optimised then it becomes even more important to have the extra RAM.

          • Muhammad Yasir
            March 3, 2015

how so? isnt more ram supposed to be a better thing?

also for $190 , thats a brilliant deal , imho.

but i’d love to hear your side of the argument as well. rep ASAP.

              March 3, 2015

More RAM is always better but I meant more in terms of the people they are marketing this phone for, don’t really need 3 GB of RAM.

A clone faster than the original. Shame on you Xiaomi.

    • balcobomber25
      March 2, 2015

On Paper it is faster, let’s wait till someone actually reviews it. We get these with every new phone release, a clone proclaiming to be better than the original. They almost always fall short.

      • Riccardo Benzoni
        March 2, 2015

that’s because usually clones have lower specs compared to originals, but maybe this is the first case where the specs of the clone surpassed the original (mt6752 vs mt6592).

obviously, it has to be seen if the rest of the hardware is at least decent, but the Rom doesn’t worry me, will be for sure an AOSP with very minor graphical updates (and compared to MIUI, a lot snappier for sure).

i really do hope we DO NOT get any interpolation here… it’ll completely kill of the anticipation surrounding this one!

    • Marco Lancaster
      March 2, 2015

Yeah man, but you should expect that. for the price, or you have a interpolated 13MP camera or a bad sensor. I hope I’m wrong.

      • Muhammad Yasir
        March 3, 2015

        i hope you’re wrong too!
im sure there are ALOT of cheap but wonderful BSI/CMOS sensors out there with TRUE 13mp resolution. hopefully they’ll use on of those!

  9. March 2, 2015

The perfect phone would be the Kolina 100+ with the MT6752 chipset…

Until then, I´m enjoying the current version of the 100+, and praying god for a KitKat update.

    Mlais M52 Red Note….

No really some companies here need to seriously work on their model names. 1st off lose the NOTE part already. It’s done. By Samsung. ZERO contest there. I can’t decide which is worse really. This phone’s model name that seems to be a color code for some fabric or ARCHOS 50 Oxygen Plus that sounds more like a scuba diving equipment.

    I can’t wait have this Mlais M52 Red Note….

  12. Mars
    March 27, 2015

when talking this price, expect only one possible outcome – interpolated 8mpx older Sony or Omnivision sensor used in most budget devices like in Elephone P6000. If they fit the phones with true 13mpx they usually states the name of the sensor – e.g. Sony Exmor 214 RS which is the standard on similar bit more expensive devices such as Jiayu S3 or Kingzone Z1. So in terms of camera, expectations are of lowest like in similar cases as with P6000 and P3000

    • Muhammad Yasir
      March 27, 2015

a bit sad… but i expect to see improvment in this flawed tactic by chinese vendors..

  13. Mars
    March 27, 2015

Guys, if you are looking for a device with similar specs, but definitely better camera and almost comparable price , checkout this one TCL M2U. It comes out with Sony EXMOR 214 RS and cost is pretty low. Unfortunately, I have not seen any review yet as this device gets not that much attention as it probably should.

      March 31, 2015

Its not a Sony. They are lying.
