Since the Bluboo X550 first rumors, we haven’t seen any sample of the device actually working. But now a new video has been published showing the battery monster in action.

The Bluboo phablet comes to meet an ever growing demand among consumers, a high capacity battery and fast recharge technology, to meet the first requirement the device has a 5300mAh unit manufactured by battery specialists Amprius. For the latter the new Pump Express Plus technology, that despite the curious name, claims 50% charge in only 40min and 75% in just an hour.

The device will be powered by the MT6735 64-Bit Quad-Core, coupled with 2GB of Ram and 16GB of onboard storage, plus an MicroSD expansion up to 64GB.

From the video, we can see that the Bluboo X550 carries a design that at least is stylish, especially when placed in comparison to the company latest handsets. The X550 keeps the large battery in an impressive 8.9mm body.

Gizchina News of the week

On the front there is a 5.5-inch 720p display, with the 2MP camera for selfies, and cool Lollipop themed buttons. On the back we have the 8MP main shooter with one single LED flash. One thing that is really interesting in the device, is that it counts with the Android 5.1 Lollipop right out the box, while devices from major brands still dream of being updated.

Although the device can not please everyone, due to the HD Screen or median cameras, we must remember that the main focus of the X550 should be it battery capabilities. The Bluboo X550, can now be found in pre-sales on the company authorized stores, a list can be accessed through this link. The device is being sold now with a special price of only $149.99 until June 4th.

The battery is made by the same company as the one in the THL5000 so I’m hopeful it lives up to its billing! Perhaps finally a battery that doesn’t have its capacity exagerrated since it’s the main selling point of this device.

I expected it to look better. I can see why lots of people will be very interested, but I do need the esthetics…
