Xiaomi are now making luggage, this $47 Mi Trolley is the first

Xiaomi well and truly want to be more than just a smartphone brand. Already one of the most versatile manufacturers, Xiaomi have phones, action cameras, water purifiers, LED lamps and even shoes in their kitty. That’s all set to expand with the 299 Yuan Mi Trolley.

The Mi Trolley is Xiaomi’s first luggage offering. The suitcase comes with a host of features, including a 20-inch size, wheels to aid in convenience and a weight of just 2.9 kg.

Gizchina News of the week

It comes with an extendable handle which will allow you to easily pull the Mi Trolley as you move around. The rods of the handle are made out of aluminium, and have three lock steps to them so you can adjust the height as per your convenience.

The capacity is about 36 liters, which doesn’t make the Mi Trolley the largest capacity suitcaseΒ around. But if you’re a Xiaomi fan, or if you’re just looking for a budget suitcase, this might be a good option.

If you’re in China, you’ll be able to purchase these 299 Yuan apiece starting 18th September.

        Is there an international version?

The wheels are nice ^^. As a suitcase fanatic, the wheels and [light] weight make all the difference! I hope they make a larger size.

I think with big wheels he means 20 inch what the text says πŸ˜› If they were really 20 inch they could be underneath a big car πŸ˜› I think Andi meant 2.0 inch πŸ˜€

Looks like just another suitcase, and the price isn’t that great, is this really a Xiaomi product .

So let me see if I got this right; Xiaomi had a product development meeting and somehow they all agreed what Xiaomi needs to make is a suitcase? What’s funny is the minion that suggested it was probably just joking but management ran with it.

Maybe to jilt all of you people Xiaomi might add a 16000 mAh power pack, and two USB outlets for you to charge phones since the bag is a big unit and so can put more than 16000 mAh battery if required, that might really be a good transport companion
BTW Xiaomi does not manufacture all not even phones, it develops the concepts etc and the OEM for Xiaomi (Foxconn) builds it, they follow the same way for different products including the bag

If they include a battery in it…. it would make it pretty useless as we can no longer check that in
