Xiaomi could make its phones much easier to use alongside Apple devices. According to a new report from XiaomiUI, HyperOS 4 is testing several features that would make file sharing and syncing between Xiaomi phones and Apple's ecosystem easier.

AirDrop-Like Sharing

One of the biggest changes is an AirDrop-style sharing feature. The tool is being tested on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and could let users send files between Xiaomi phones and Apple devices more easily.
If the feature reaches the final software, Xiaomi users could have a simpler way to share photos and other files with iPhones, iPads and Macs. But you should still know, this all still being tested. Xiaomi has not officially announced it.

HyperOS 4 could add more Apple device features

The AirDrop-style sharing is not the only thing being tested. XiaomiUI says HyperOS 4 could also sync photos, files, and notifications between Xiaomi and Apple.
This is great for people who use a Xiaomi phone but also own a Mac or iPad. Photos taken on the phone will be easier to move. Files and notifications will stay available across different hardware.
The report also talks about desktop sharing through Xiaomi's Smart Share feature. This allows a Xiaomi phone to connect more closely with Apple computers and tablets.
That is a big change for users who own devices from both brands. Apple usually locks its sharing features inside its own ecosystem. Better support for Android phones will finally remove these old barriers.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is reportedly being tested

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is currently the main phone linked to these features. However, the report does not say that every Xiaomi phone will get the same tools.
The features are also said to be part of HyperOS 4. This means older versions of Xiaomi's software are unlikely to get them.
It is still unclear which Apple devices will be supported or if Xiaomi will limit some features to certain phones. The final list could also change before the software is released.

Global availability is still unclear

Right now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the reported Apple integration features. There is also no confirmed release date for them.
This means the current information should be seen as just a work in progress, not as the final HyperOS 4 feature list. Xiaomi could add more devices during testing, change how the tools work, or remove some features before the final release.
Still, better sharing between Xiaomi and Apple devices could help people who use both platforms in my opinion. If Xiaomi brings these tools to the final version of HyperOS 4, moving files between the two platforms could become much easier.
