Oukitel K6000 Premium promises to launch with Helio X20

letv le2 helio x20

In a surprising turn of events, it is Oukitel who are claiming to have one of the first Mediatek Helio X20 waiting in the ranks.

Oukitel made a surprise announcement today stating that their next model, an update of the current K6000, will launch with the next gen Mediatek MT6797 chipset, aka the Mediatek Helio X20. So far we haven’t had chance to try a Helio X20, but we’re pretty impressed with the first Helio X10 that ships in the LeTV Le 1s, and other mid-range flagships.

Oukitel K6000 Premium

The more powerful chipset isn’t the only update to the Oukitel K6000 Premium, the phone will also receive a 2K 5.5-inch AMOLED display, Sony IMX 230 rear 21 mega-pixel camera, 8 mega-pixel IMX219 front camera, 4GB RAM, 32GB memory and up will accept 128GB SD cards.

Gizchina News of the week

Like the original K6000, the new Premium version will ship with a 6000mAh battery with 9V 2A fast charge feature.

If those specs sound impressive to you then you aren’t the only ones. This jump to a Helio X20 and flagship hardware seems out of the ordinary for Oukitel, who until this point have focussed on budget and big battery phones.

For Oukitel to have scored the X20 ahead of larger brands like Vivo, Xiaomi and Meizu seems doubtful, so don’t expect the K6000 Premium to launch before the Chinese Spring Festival celebrations.

Well this year has been all about 5.5″ phones and 6″ ones vanished. Now suddenly we have a plethora of them either released or announced, good times at last. There will always be kids on here complaining cos they can’t handle more than 4″ ?

I’m actually interested in both premium and pro version, with the latter more suitable on my normal use… I’m waiting for reviews!
Anyway, is the pro version out already? Because if so, i can’t really remember it, and that would be strange :-/

Very good move from Oukitel. First flagship phone to actually come with HUGE battery size. I am interested more in the Premium model. I hope they are not gonna take too much time to release it. I am going for this after buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. How I wish they had used a 6″ display but 5.5″ will do though.

Well I’m waiting on a cheap upgrade. May last phone was a 13/5MP camera Jiayu S3, so the next phone as to be better. Nearly every phone released is like midrange specs. It’s crazy.

        • Marco Lancaster
          November 27, 2015

To be honest a Vowney with 2K screen, will not be a big upgrade to Jiayu S3, the 2K screen will drain out all the power of Helio X10.

My past examination of benchmarks is that the GPU dosn’t struggle to draw up the desktop. Regarding 3D rendering, there maybe a slight decrease of about 0 – 15%. Sum up the slight loss in speed to the benefits of clear precise graphics. Also consider that when you cast the screen to your HDTV you will be getting the 2K resolution, not 1080p where you will see the pixelation of the vectors and textures.

The Battery size is soooo FITTING and APPROPRIATE for THAT sorta hardware… finally a 2k phone that will NOT be blasted for inadequacies in battery factor.

(i kno , i kno …. won’t be cheap … but that spec set is bound to have bigwigs at mi , vivo, meizu and others sweating hard!)

I believe this k6000 premium will be pretty much vaporwave, or maybe we’ll see it when x20 will become the standard for second-tier brands, so not before 6 to 10 months from now maybe, they can’t afford it now, regarldess what they claim.
The pro is the real version that we’ll see soon.

You are both right but you got to admit this is the proof of concept of what major brands should be doing with their flagships … Excellent spec’s that come out with a battery to last at least a day and a half of REAL HEAVY use.

No one here is saying you’re not right, actually I’ve been searching a well-spec’d phone with a huge battery for a long long…LONG time… If you go back to all of the other battery-phone news on this site, you can always read the very same comment of mine, like “why always mt6735p?! Why not a more powerful soc?” 😀

Anyway, what we are saying is that to announce now a phone like that is pure gimmick: it will be released many months ahead from now, so it’s just a “hey, we will release this interesting phone at some point next year, so wait for it, don’t buy anything else!”… In other words, elephone style!
