Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm and Redmi Buds 8S Get a Fresh New Look

Xiaomi is preparing two new additions to its wearable lineup and for their fans this may be important. The Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm and Redmi Buds 8S have now been teased ahead of their launch, revealing their designs and some of the available colors.

Both products are already open for pre-order in China. The Redmi Buds 8S will go on sale on September 22, while the smaller Watch S5 is expected to launch later this month alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro series.

The Watch S5 41mm keeps the round look of a classic watch. It weighs about 36g and is only 9.9mm thick. Xiaomi has also paid close attention to the small details. The watch has a white ceramic bezel and a diamond-shaped crown with 24 cut sides. This gives the smaller model a more refined look.

The watch will run HyperOS 4 - as most of the latest wearables of the company. Officials (like Lu Weibing) say it will offer new health and daily-use tools. These include workout tips, calorie tracking and UV alerts.

Battery life is rated at up to 14 days. That should give most users several days of use before they need to charge it.

The Redmi Buds 8S use a semi-in-ear design. This type of earbud does not sit as deep in the ear, so some users may find it more comfortable for long sessions.

Each earbud has an 11mm dynamic driver. Xiaomi is also adding HyperConnect support. This should make pairing easier with compatible Xiaomi phones and other devices, Xiaomi has not shared all the details yet. Full specs, prices and more color options should appear closer to launch.

The Redmi Buds 8S will go on sale in China on September 22. The Watch S5 41mm is expected to launch later this month with the Xiaomi 18 Pro series.

For now, both products are available for pre-order in China. Xiaomi has not confirmed global launch plans yet.

The Watch S5 41mm looks like the more interesting addition here. It keeps the features of the larger model but puts them into a smaller body. The Buds 8S, meanwhile, look like a simple option for people who prefer a lighter earbud fit.
