It arrived yesterday. I spent 2 weeks with the P9 on a recent trip to China and I loved it. From my very limited time with the Honor 8 I can’t notice any differences between this and the P9 (other than the obvious glass vs metal build). The Blue color looks even better in person.

dont forget that the leeco cool 1 dual has defeated the redmi note 3 pro, in price and performance… exxxxxxcept for battery life, but sadly popularity rules people are still preaching that the redmi note 3 pro is the best budget phone even after the qiku n4 ,n4s and cool 1 dual

        August 31, 2016

        This comment is pure non-sense.

        1. Snapdragon 650 scores better than X20 performance-wise.
        2. Cool 1 is almost double price RMN3Pro via resellers ($210 vs $140).
        3. Qiku or whatever it is called is not available internationally.

        Good night

availability is a nonsense arguement when discussing price to value the fact still remains it is better value

scores? we are talking about actual day to day performance frame rates camera etc etc not just an soc

of course the cool 1 is inflated now by resellers this was for the redmi note 3 pro as well if we compare this fairly to the redminote 3 pro on release which was 250 with resellers it still beats it

        • balcobomber25
          August 31, 2016

          1. I lost you at “Scores better”. First because that isn’t actually true (X20 scores higher in some) and second because scores are completely useless for figuring out actual usage. It’s like using 0-60 times to compare cars.

          2. You can find the Cool 1 as low as $189 on Kimovil. On this same site the RN3 Pro (with 3/32) is as low as $165. That isn’t even close to almost double the price.

          3. None of these 3 phones are available internationally. All of them require the use of resellers and all of them may or may not work on your countries LTE.

So we went from scores better to a random video with a phone (Redmi 4) we aren’t even discussing?

              http://m.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_361777.html

There’s about a dozen other sites that have it for preorder. You can even find it on Ebay. I don’t really care if you “expect” it to be cheaper. The fact remains it is available.

              August 31, 2016

I provided a video showing REAL-LIFE performance comparison between RMN4 and RMN3Pro. This is not Antutu or Geekbench mumbo jumbo score, but REAL-LIFE proof that Snapdragon 650 is giving better results. This is what you wanted.

On the other hand it is YOU who are giving me some random links with out-of-stock or pre-sale Qiku’s. Nothing real.

            • balcobomber25
              August 31, 2016

You are the one who mentioned better scores. You then provide a video which shows them being a near tie, also a video which isn’t exactly scientific, the slightest difference of a screen press on one will give it the slight advantage it needs because the X20 and the 650 are very close in performance.

Also provided you a link where they are selling it. Next excuse?

LeEco is not bad on paper, but in real-life there are few downsides, i.e. lack of SD slot, headphone jack, FM radio & that rose gold color option…

      • Venci
        August 31, 2016

True, but you list so old standarts, audio jack is going to die in smartphones in recent years.
Who actually listen to FM radio nowadays when you can get 10GB of internet for low fee.
Sd slot is good, but has problems, remember Xiaomi told they will never use sd card again ?

Rose gold is a little gay, but in reality is not that bad.

          August 31, 2016

“Audio jack is going to die in smartphone in recent years…”

Agree, but people needs a phone today and not in a couple of years.

“Who actually listen to FM radio nowadays when you can get 10GB of internet for low fee.”

Anybody who likes to listen to radio and also LTE is not cheap everywhere. Here in the US can go up to $10 per gigabyte.

          “Remember when Xiaomi…”

We remember, but then they put SD card in their Redmi series.
Samsung (#1 seller worldwide) is still using SD cards and will put UFS cards readers onto their next phones.

“Rose gold is little gay, but in reality is not that bad”

Again, that is simply your opinion, others might find that color disgusting and would never buy a phone simply for that color.

        • balcobomber25
          August 31, 2016

          1. Audio jack isn’t dead yet and will still be around for quite sometime. The majority of all headphones sold today use a 3.5mm jack. It will be a few years till this changes (if it ever does).

          2. A lot of people listen to FM everyday.

          3. 10GB of Data can be very costly in some countries.

          4. Not sure what sexual preference has to do with a color choice.

      Ha! Good try buddy.

I’ve been following this blog for a while now and I’ve seen fanboys coming with “this is better and costs less” but they always compare the model with less Ram/storage.

It looks you are no different here my friend.
That price you mentioned is referred to the the 3/32Gb version of Letv and you were comparing it to the 4/64GB version of Zuk.

It would have been honest of you compared the price of the 4/64GB of Le Max 2 which is 327€ or $364

What do you mean with “so what?”
LeEcho is a better deal for your needs, it doesn’t mean that it’s a better deal for everybody.
If someone wants more storage then the 64GB version of Zuk is cheaper than the 64GB version of LeEcho. Almost $100 cheaper!

I’ve heard many many times that 2K is a no go for a lot of users because it’s just a battery killer.
Again, for those people LeEcho is not an option.

Many people would go for ZuK just because of CyanogenMod, and skip LeEcho because of their UI.

I’m debating on your position that if something works better for you then it has to be same for everybody else. That’s not how it works.

Personally I would pick le Max 2 because it has more enabled LTE bands but I’m not expecting everybody do this kind of choice.
My last purchase was a LeTV x500, so I’m not writing you as ZuK fan.

As for visibility I can assure you that they have made more articles about LeEcho than ZuK 2 for sure.

Attacking the author because he mentioned this deal is unfair.
Anybody looking for a CyanogenMod phone with big storage, OIS and big battery would be drooling when they see that price. Period.

I agree with you that both phones are good at different things.
My main drag was that Leeco has the cheapest phones for a current Soc:
Lowest price snapdragon 820 – Leeco le 2 max 236$
Lowest price snapdragon 810 – Leeco le 1 pro 190$
            Lowest price mediatek x10 – Leeco le 1 116$
            Lowest price mediatek x20 – Leeco le 2 149$

Yes there are many design choices which are important, but i really think Leeco is underated.

I don’t think they are underrated.
I haven’t seen major complains about them here in GizChina.
On the other side, you can see many complains about Xiaomi.

In India LeTV sells phones like candies and in the US they are waiting for them to be fully operative.

The only critic I do to LeTV is that they should work a little more on software side.

I bought a X500 for my mom and she can’t get a data speed better than Edge.
Apparently they have disabled an important 3G band and you need to enable it back through ADB.
Now, can you picture a 60 years old woman doing it?
She also complained that the Rom is not fully translated.
I would expect a little more from a company like LeTV, at least considering their ambitions.

Well you haven’t had xiaomi phone then, yes leeco has standart shit chinise rom, BUT you can root and add custom recovery only with fastboot flash, like 2 min work and remove all chinise bloatware. Battery life is just fine. Overall far better then most chinise phones, but yeah Zuk has nicer software.

I do have Xiaomi. MI2, Redmi 1s, and MI4 so I know all about rooting and all that stuff.I bought the Leeco because of so much funfare when it was released but that’s all there is the fare but no fun at all.

            August 31, 2016

Can’t image how you hate Leeco’s rom and love Xiaomi’s one.
MIUI is so much more aggresive, bloated and its freaking locked now.

Stock is the way to go, i will be very glad if Leeco makes a stock rom, when they start to sell in USA.

            • Wolvie
              September 1, 2016

Hmmm i beg to differ, i’ve been using Official Global MIUI 7 (and now MIUI 8) on my Redmi Note 3 pro Prime (Qualcomm 3GB/32Gb) and the battery life is more than i expected.

My usage is kind of low btw so i cannot compare to those frequent power heavy duty users. Basic usage like phone call, watzup, a bit browsing, Wifi normally enable around 10 hours a day.

With those kind of usage, i can get minimum 3 days for 1 fully charge battery, and that’s not too shabby at all.

MIUI is not the fastest and power efficient firmware compare to Mod firmware AOSP or cyanogen, etc but at least they are easy to use and quite stable for basic simple usage LOL.

Also i really don’t have time to keep meddling around with bug, patches from those Mod firmwares anymore like i used to be. I better spend my limited spare time with my families compare to thinkering with firmwares bugs and try to make it more power efficient, etc etc.

            • Venci
              September 1, 2016

Can’t seem to understand how people like MIUI.
Don’t you hate when some chinise app notifications come up, have restrictions for download files size, everytime asks for “wifi only” download, accselators want to be turn on, mi account needs to be accessed. So many features, which cant be removed easily.
At the same time you can’t change order of toggles in quick settings, cant directly change launcher.

These are small things but when you add them up, is just enough to make me not use MIUI.
