Can’t see how this is any different from every other phone out there. The recipe of the year seems to be 5.5″FHD display, MT SoC, 13/5mp cameras, 3000mAh battery. This doesn’t stand out from any other phone out there unfortunately, especially with the weak P10.

    • Muhammad Yasir

im rooting for cheap phone with 2k screens !

      I AM YET TO SEE a $160 phone with a 2k screen …DAMMIT ~!

      • Assefa Hanson

        Get an iuni

        • MaxPower

          They are out of business

          • Assefa Hanson

I know but you can still buy them online, the u3 or maybe an old flagship can get him a 2k display relatively cheap

            • Muhammad Yasir

i lost ya at “an old flagship” 😀

        • Muhammad Yasir

          old af ,
          keep em coming

          • Ivan

Dude, you’re never gonna get a phone 😀
Reading these same comments from you in the past 1-2 years…

            • Muhammad Yasir

              HAAHA 😀

you were pretty close with the timeline , i have to give you that 🙂
              been here since October 2014

      • MattD

Letv le one pro (the one with sd810) has been around that price for a while now

        • Muhammad Yasir

but but … its an year old

          i want NEEEWWWW

          • MattD

It’s a flagship from last year, it should be better than almost every modrange you could buy this year for the same money ?

  • ThomasKr

The weak P10 is a no go 🙁 I think the Apollo Lite is the better choice.

    • Muhammad Yasir

agreed … they make an less expensive phone (vernee $220) with a STRONGER CPU but make a more expensive phone with a shitty cpu .

      fuck logic

      • Wolvie

China market are indeed weird. I can give example those darn low spec huawei, Oppo, etc selling at high price and yet they are top seller brand there.

So my theory is most china buyers only see the giant ADs with a lot of top singers, actors, actress promoting those premium china brands. They heck care about hardware/software spec.

        • Muhammad Yasir

well … that just plain stupid and sad …

  • Muhammad Yasir

p10 is a shitfuck mistake as usual.. they COULD have delayed this to the END of the year , worked on getting either p20 shipments OR snapdragon 652 OR even wait for 653 (which was JUST announced)

i have no qualms with the other specs (expect maybe a bigger screen would have been better or a 2k screen with same size as listed !) but the CPU is utter DIPSHIT !

price is an absolute flub as well … all in all a DISAPPOINTING one from Vernee !

maybe the Mars Pro will have something new to offer !

    • Yeti hand

      Yep that’s dissapointing!! 🙁
      No lenny face for vernee

      • Muhammad Yasir

        lol

  • Lukas

    overpriced
but i really like the design

    • Lazar Prodanovic

Try with Alcatel Flash 2 Plus rather regarding price, design & everything else. Still the best P10 phone.

      • G’n’T

So you are going ok with this phone @lazarprodanovic:disqus ? I was looking at this phone a while back and was hoping for a review on this site. Doesn’t look like the review will ever happen. I have seen a few varying issues with camera and audio for that handset from different forums. Where did you buy yours from? What release is it on?

        • Lazar Prodanovic

No you got it wrong. I don’t have that phone, still hanging with this old chunk pile of…
          http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-neo/orig-development/kernel-n1kernel-t3208957
All do it still serves me good.
About Alcatel Flash 2 Plus I know from the other reviews around the net. Only flow concerning it that I know is that you need to use screen protector glass as the used Dragontrail glass isn’t exactly even close to Gorila. I know you can get it in Philippines as Alcatel is pretty much popular there. Best regards.

  • Jh1

I’ll pass. Too many great options at $250 to pick this one. Le eco le2 can be found cheaper, as can zuk z2, redmi pro and cool1 dual. Mi5 is only slightly more expensive

  • Assefa Hanson

Ooooooooh p10…. A mixed bag processor some phones like the Meizu m3 note can’t play games at all then phones like the black view r7 can handle nova 3,

I’m going to ignore the paper specs let’s see how it actually performs camera and etc

    • Lazar Prodanovic

Nova 3 is rather buggy… P10s MALI T860 MP2 is just good enough for HD resolution & nothing over it.

      • Assefa Hanson

yeah you know what i agree

  • Adam Irvine

Crikey they’re all sticking this P10 crap in these cheaper phones now just like the z8300 Atom finds it’s way in almost all of the cheaper tablets!

  • P10 for over 200$, are Vernee insane?

    • Yeti hand

      Yep!! That’s crazy!!

    • balcobomber25

Blu is selling the Pure Xr for $300 with the P10. But that’s also the US market where most prices are inflated and they are an established brand. Vernee should have priced this closer to $200.

  • Bailey

Why do Chinese OEM have to cheap is there some rule $250 is not really asking the earth for a phone

    • David Košič

After a certain price point you are just better of getting a phone from your local shop and you are worry free for at least 2 years. Even if the phone cost around 400 $ it might be a better deal then a phone that costs 250 on aliexpress.

      • Yeti hand

Lol none of the ”local” phone offer half the specs for that price and sorry but where did you get that ” worry free for at least 2 years”
When you buy a budget phone you’re NOT worry free espescially at your local shop cuz they’re trash!!
        loool

        • Muhammad Yasir

          where u from ?

          • Yeti hand

            Not from our world

            • Muhammad Yasir

aww… come on man , im serious.

            • Yeti hand

someone who compare a 400 dollars smartphone to a 250 one, who say because a brand is sold in a local one you can sleep at night in case of problem, who use his own experience to expand it to the whole china brands is not from our world muhammad.

            • Muhammad Yasir

well … y’all know from Pakistan

i was just curious to know where you’re from (altho it DOES sound like you’re not from ‘our world’ :p )

im gonna go ahead and guess your overall region. i’d say you’re somewhere from scandinavia or the baltic region 😀

          • Yeti hand

My bad muhammad I didn’t pay attention to your answer I thought you asked HIM where he was from not me!!
            I’m really sorry.
I’m from France Muhammad, I live next to paris

            • Muhammad Yasir

              lol .. its alright.

i can guess by his name almost where he’s from 😀

tho what is next to paris ?? like the lush countryside or something ? or is it another city ?

            • Yeti hand

              50kms from paris

            • Muhammad Yasir

              i see

        • David Košič

400$ isn’t usually a budget phone but a mid-ranger. And yes you are worry free for 2 years. When the phone starts acting up or you just break it you just just return it to the shop you got it from and they well fix it for you or just replace it. And in some cases you have to pay a small fee if it was your fault. Returning a phone to China to make use of the joke warranty is actually big gamble. I speak from experience since I returned a tablet and since the seller apparently never received it was out of luck and money.

          • Yeti hand

In which world do you live i’m curious because you’re surely not from our world! Also there is a huge gap between 250 dollars and 400 dollars you make no sense.
if we follow your opinion samsung is trash since they refused to repair my s2 back in the day. One or 2 bad experience do not make you the center of the world.
One last thing this phone is a let when you look at the processor but vernee is one of the best chinese brand right now so keep your ” it’s a gamble” for another brand.
Have a nice dream in your delusional world 🙂

    • balcobomber25

The problem is on sites like Kimovil you can find the Mi5 ($270) and Zuk Z2 ($242), with better specs for less money. Most consumers are going to go with the more powerful and better equipped phone than the no name brand. $250 is too much for a brand like this.

      • quodvadis

consumers with brain won’t put up with limited storage in today’s ever increasing need of huge data for apps and games, but hey.

        • balcobomber25

Depends on the consumer and their needs. Many consumers today are taking advantage of cloud services for everything they do. Google Photos instead of storing photos locally, Spotify and Play Music instead of storing music directly on their devices and Netflix, Vudu and Hulu instead of videos. For a lot of consumers increased storage isn’t the requirement it once was especially with more and more data plans switching to an unlimited model.

          • quodvadis

lol if you believe so. I guess the reason why S7 and Note 7 were so hugely popular was not because samsung ‘listened’ and put the slot card back, nope not at all. lol.

            • balcobomber25

The S7 and Note 7 were so popular because Samsung is the number 1 Android phone brand in the world. It would have sold well even if it didn’t have an SD card. The Note 7 is a pocket grenade and it still sold well. Dont kid yourself into thinking your little SD card had that much of an effect.

      • Bailey

My comment really was not about this company it was about the fact people always keep thinking that because a phone comes from China some how the price must always be a cheap one

        • balcobomber25

It’s not so much that it comes from China, its that it comes with $200 specs from an unknown brand. Unknown brands should be sold cheap no matter what country they are from, until they can establish a name for themselves.

          • Bailey

To be honest that is every phone that is reviewed on this website we only know about them because we are into phones. If the quality is there in the build and components (not saying this is quality) I don’t see why it has to be sold cheap. Because if that was the case the Nubia Z11 should be cheaper in price as they have shot themselves in the foot with price they want for it in Europe

            • balcobomber25

Nubia isn’t an unknown brand making it second phone. The Nubia brand has been around for years, we know just about everything about. Vernee we know very little of.

I am not sure how 299 euro is equal to “shot themselves in the foot”. It is a SD820 phone with specs similar to every other 299 euro SD820 phone including OP3, Honor 8 and Axon 7.

            • Bailey

Hi much mind share does Nubia have in US & Europe? Yes they are well known in China but if you coming in the UK and selling your phone for over £400 why wouldnt buy something else how many Nubia do you see in the states out in the wild

            • balcobomber25

Some consumers will buy something else, some already know the ZTE brand from tech sites such as this one and major UK and US sites that all cover the brand. Those people will buy the Nubia, just like they bought the OP3 when it launched. If Vernee launched a phone with these specs in the Us or Europe a segment of people would buy it. Vernee’s biggest problem is the specs, they don’t match the price

            • Bailey

Its overpriced for a device that is not well known in the US or the UK. Your expecting people to spend over £400 for a brand that hardly anyone knows in the UK the one plus 3 is competitive in price and maybe a little more known. Yes it is connected with Zte bit they are not selling it that way. I am not talking about tech heads I am talking about the every day Joe go up to people and ask them if they heard of the Nubia and if you live in the UK that you are going to put over £400 on it

            • balcobomber25

It is not overpriced, it is competitively priced with devices that have the same hardware. There is no such consumer as the “every day Joe”. Every consumer is different and can’t be lumped into one specific category. Consumers shop for goods in a number of ways and most consumers do some type of research online before making a major purchase such as a phone. It will be very easy for those consumers to research Nubia and see them covered and reviewed on every major tech site in the West. It will also be every easy for those consumers to compare the specs/price of the Nubia to other phones currently selling and perceive whether it is or isn;t a good deal. With Vernee consumers have limited resources, there is no brand history with them and the specs/price doesn’t match up with other phones. That is why your example is wrong.

            • Bailey

OK I am wrong and you are correct in every single thing that you have said. So when you are around people who don’t read tech sites or have a major interest in mobile phone technology. Ask the if they have ever heard about the Nubia z11 (I am sure you have better things to do but ask them) my daily driver is a Mi5 so many times people say to me is that a Samsung handset. When I tell them its Xiaomi mi5 there like what’s that. Xiaomi have had been reviewed on the every tech site even major called The verge in fact they have even been on Major US news programme in the US and even been covered on BBC news true that don’t have any product but accessories that they sell. But yes you are totally wrong and I don’t know anything. And the fact that you keep mentioning the Vernee when I made it clear that in was really talking about China phones in general. But can we move on 🙂

            • balcobomber25

This article in question is about a Vernee phone. The people I know who don’t read tech sites have a Samsung or an iPhone so it is a moot point to ask them as these types of phones are never intended for them. The people who phones like the Z11, OP3 and Mi5 are intended for (outside of China) know about them, and those people number in the tens of millions if not hundreds of millions.

            • Bailey

I am not talking about people who read tech sites if you look up the Nubia website they don’t mention Zte. And I can only speak for the UK a very large amount of people don’t know who Nubia is and would not spend so much money on an unknown. Phone contracts are not dead in the USA. We are so much further ahead when it come to buying a phone of contract in the UK and other parts of Europe

            • balcobomber25

Once again you are making blanket statements and applying them to a whole group of people. Last time I checked you aren’t the voice of the UK. By Phone contracts I meant subsidizing (getting a phone for free in exchange for a 2 year agreement) those are no longer available for most companies. More and more people, especially those with less than perfect credit which is the majority of the US, have to buy their phones now out of pocket. Many can’t afford a $800 S7 so instead are searching out cheaper unlocked phones. That is why the Honor 8, Idol 4S, Axon 7 and OP3 are huge successes in the US market this year. Many of those brands struggled to sell in the US in years past because of subsidizing.

  • Trayanee

I feel like chinese oems have gone crazy with pricing recenty. First UMi
plus, now this. Noone is going to buy it. Over $200 people look for a
reliable device which chinese net brands cant provide or really good
specs which isnt the case neither. Also the price tag is dangerously
close to the likes of Mi5, Le max 2,.

    • balcobomber25

I have to agree, for another $50 you can get many Chinese flagships that blow this thing away from better brands. These phones should be no more than $200.

      • Lazar Prodanovic

        170$ top.

  • MitsosDaBest

Really? This is worse than Vernee Apollo Lite! Huge disappointment…

Why give $250 for this crap? Just buy one of these Xiaomis’ with the International ROM (800MHz 4G band included), for a much better price and forget about bugs and problems…

(It’s NOT an ad, I’m just showing that you can buy a premium Chinese phone for less money)

    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-Pro-5-5-Inch-FHD-3GB-32GB-Smartphone-371103.html

    • Wolvie

Totally agree with you, For @250 there are a lot other brands that give much better hardware spec than this mediatek P10 crap.

If they want to sell, the reasonable price will be $150 or lower.

    • quodvadis

lol are you suggesting that xiaomi’s phones are free from bugs and problems?

      how cute lol

  • quodvadis

    p10? not even p20?

lol what’s even the point? their own apollo lite is better than this and is cheaper. what are they smoking?

  • palec

The phone remains me a lot ulefone future…with similar specs and bezelless display… And 250 usd? Its a joke?

    • Marius Cirsta

It’s not even bezelless, it might be a very thin bezel but it’s clearly visible and I’ve seen better even from Chinese manufacturers ( like Ulefone )

  • Marco Lancaster

Vernee Mars weren’t supposed to have Helio P20 and 6GB of Ram?.

    • That’s now going to be the Pro.

  • ЗлаяЗая

    P10 for 250$ no thanks 😀

150 or lower will be great 😉

Why no p20 and some batter camera ?

    • Yeti hand

p20 should be used for the mars pro

      • quodvadis

if the ‘non-pro’ version is $250, how much would that be? $300, $350?

        that won’t fly

  • Partha Dutta

Vernee Mars? What wrong Meizu M3 Note had done? Do people think all fools?

  • Floans

Gizchina just ignored to write about the Vernee Mars Pro that will configured P20 ^GB RAM launched on Dec.

  • Nilzie

I’d rather get ulefone future or umi plus. Cheaper too

  • VMortens

Xiaomi Mi5 currently sales under 300$. There’s even sale for 269$ right now. There is no way this P10 phone can compete with Mi5.

  • trapchan

    No fingerprint, no buy

    • palec

there is a fingerprint, on the right side of the phone…same like on ulefone future 🙂

  • Allanitomwesh

Honestly was hoping for Helio P20. Oh well.

    • Assefa Hanson

      p20 in mid september?

      • Allanitomwesh

For $250 P10 is too slow

        • Marius Cirsta

Waay too slow, and the if you also count the 3000 mAh battery when you can get 4000 mAh and an X20 or even X25 for that price, no thanks.

          • Allanitomwesh

Indeed. Sad that they aren’t saying anything about the X25 Apollo. It’s probably been shelved at this rate.

            • Aeonia

@allanitomwesh:disqus Hi quick question, how do you ship these devices nowadays? tax, customs, shipping options, which website e.t.c to Kenya..I’m looking to buy one but haven’t shipped anything in quite a while..

            • Allanitomwesh

i go with aliexpress with ems shipping, they end up at posta. 16% VAT when it arrives though so be prepared.

            • Aeonia

              Thanks..

  • johala02

To be fair Vernee have been good on software updates. 5 so far with their first device Thor and 2 for the Apollo Lite.
And they are not so “unknown” anymore with official stores in Germany, Spain and latest Romania.
I think they try to build up the brand in a long term perspective.

    • MitsosDaBest

No, they aren’t going well. The Vernee Thor has still many bugs unfixed and the Apollo Lite has software bugs and hardware problems! Vernee doesn’t look good at all…

      • Floans

to be honest, we should compare them with the other China brands we know, Vernee is doing better job than any others so far, i will give them a shoot

      • johala02

Own a Apollo Lite and have no issues so far. Probably the best phone I had and I had many to compare with.

  • Sony IMX258 is a very capable sensor, this should be the best camera phone Vernee ever produced.
Shame they went with the P10 instead of X20, would have made a great deal if it had the X20!

    • Marius Cirsta

And now the price was announced, it’s a P10 but priced like an X20 if not even higher, seriously ?
I can just get a Xiaomi with an X20 and a 4000 mAh battery rather than a P10 powered phone with a 3000 mAh battery.

  • Mikkle

If you are in eg. Europe and are looking at Vermeer phones then you know the specs and you know a P10 performs way worse than an X20. So even if the build looks good there is no chance in hell you will take the Mars over the Apollo Lite. A real shame here.

  • Zero

Sadly, the phone is not attractive for me since it couldn’t reach the tax free barrier (which is below 200 dollars). Also is only an Helio P10, instead of at least an underclocked X10…

Seems that Uber is stopping helping them in finances.

  • Mohammad Ishtiaq

    nice

Vkworld has launched their latest smartphone with 6 inches extra large gorilla glass display. The device has consist such a good functions and hardware..
For the best prove of their smartphone,They are putting videos of T1 plus Kratos on youtube with it’s different functions and test.
You can check the latest videos of Vkworld kratos on their official youtube channel 🙂

  • E8hffff

Vernee has lost traction with me. They keep avoiding the flagship.

  • alili

the lowest price on Aliexpress 169.99$
